I'm also one of those who hates when people needlessly hover over me while I'm trying to do something. If you need my attention right away, and I haven't acknowledged you, I'm fine with you letting me know that you need me as soon as possible. All you have to do is say that you need to talk to me when I get to a breaking point, then quietly stand back and wait until I finish my train of thought.

On the other hand, if I've already acknowledged your presence, please step back and quietly wait until I'm done with the task at hand before you try to talk to me any further. People who launch into their request before I'm finished with whatever task I was doing annoy me just as much as those who hover without saying a word.

I must admit, I'm usually the type of person who kinda hovers and never says a thing.

It started when I was younger. My dad was always busy and told me and my siblings to be quiet and wait until he was as not busy. After awhile, it kind of became a force of habit. Of course, now he complains that we're too quiet and we sneak up on him.

I wear a little bell now to try to not be stealthy as much.
