  • Jamie Foxx not in trouble for being an racist a-hole. Double standard?

Link to what Foxx said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUvWcegtqik (NSFW)

Basically, he trashed Miley Cyrus and in the process, called her a "white b*tch" and saying other nasty things about her.

Yet, there are no protests or calls to get him fired. Meanwhile, Don Imus was fired for saying what he said on the radio.

What's the big difference, really, between what Jamie Fox said and what Don Imus said? They're both clearly racial statements.

BTW I'm not defending either one of them, I just feel there is a double standard going on here.

i've listened through a few times now, and i never actually heard foxx use the phrase "white bitch." he did call her a bitch (which, if the reports of her diva-like behavior are accurate, is fitting imo), as well as say a number of other unflattering things about her (none of them racial), but the only time i heard "white bitch" it was said by the woman on the air with him at 0:22. if you can point out to me the the timestamp at which it was said (by foxx), i'll be glad to admit i'm wrong, but otherwise you're assigning blame in the wrong place.

I can't hear him say "white bitch" either. It came from the unidentified woman's voice.

OK, I was a little wrong on that, it was that woman in the background. Either way it's still part of his show.

I'd say that if this woman is a permanent fixture on the show that bears his name, then he should take some responsibility for what she said. After all, he hired her and (presumably) set rules for what is and isn't acceptable.

If she's just a guest, then he's blameless. I haven't been able to find any info either way.

I'd have to go with 'not entirely blameless' (although I haven't seen/heard the clip - no YouTube at work here). Radios have about an 8 second delay between what is said, and what is heard through the speakers - the producer could have cut it.

            Just sayin'...
ZOE: Preacher, don't the Bible got some pretty specific things to say about killing?

SHEPHERD BOOK: Quite specific. It is, however, Somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

I'd say he's as much to blame as Springer is for some of the things said by 'guests' on his show...Ie, yes, he allowed them to be aired...but they weren't his words, and are mostly good for getting ratings

There is a difference between entertainment celebrities and collegiate athletes. One is a public figure, one is not.

There is a difference between "nappy-headed" and "white." One is a racial insult, one is a racial description.

There is not really a difference between "bitch" and "ho."

This sounds like another claim that Black people can't be racist. They are racist, how many times do you hear them blaming whitey for their situation in life? Slavery ended years ago, and instead of taking advantage of what they do have, the ability to get a job and earn money. They sit back and harass White people with racial guilt, until they're being paid by the government.

It's not a double standard, it's a reality most people don't or can't point out. After all, you can't say anything negative about a Black person without being called a racist yourself.

I posted a message, I read it wrong I thought Jamie Foxx was accused of being racist, not that he wasn't. Sorry it's 1 am, yes I know I should be asleep, instead of posting on the net half-awake lol.

It's like I said in my first post, nobody can say a negative thing about a Black person without being racist. Black people will deny they're racist, when they're constantly harping on about White people. It's a no win situation, always has been. This is the thanks we get for freeing them as slaves.

I believe I understand what you mean. But you come off with a little too much venom and actually do sound a tad bit racist.
But I get the irritation of someone playing the race card.

                        What the hell???
If we hadn't made them slaves in the first place, we wouldn't have to be so gracious as to free them.

That has to be one of the most bigoted things I have read in a long time.

I really am still in shock that you actually posted that comment as if it was a rational thing to say.
                        Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

If what you just posted is an example of "something negative" then no, you can't say that without being called racist BECAUSE IT IS RACIST.

The slaves weren't freed so they would thank white people. They were freed because slavery is wrong. Your post reads like black people should be reenslaved because they aren't thanking white people hard enough. And I agree with Ree, I am shocked that you actually said that.

Would you thank someone for holding you and your family captive for years when they finally decided to let you go?

It's statements like this that makes it so difficult for blacks to move on. Almost 150 years later, and white people are still saying horribly ignorant things. Many people still don't get it.

I'm pretty darn sure that Violet meant that as a joke. I took it that way. If Violet meant it, then of course she? is a raging racist.
As to blacks playing the race card so much, well of course they do since white people can't at all, so X>0 will always be greater than 0 by definition.
Everyone can be a racist no matter the situation. My lovemuffin works with a self-identified black who is very racist against whites.
