I don't understand (tradition) cue angry yells

I don't know if this is a thing in other countries and cultures but I feel like here in the states if you don't practice or particularly like a tradition that rather than the other person saying, "Well here's how I see it" you instead get a ton of people ignoring both the origins of the tradition (according to their own history) and insisting that you all must follow the tradition too.

I mean is it just me?
