Some swears, like bitch, cunt, fuckvagina, apply only to women, while no swears single out men.

Really? So you've never heard the terms "fag" "poop-dick" "short-dick" "pencil-dick" and others?

I guess I'm strange, then. A person doesn't need a certain set of genitalia for me to call them a bitch.

Well you're either calling them a female dog or a man who is weak like a woman.

ETA: Weak like a woman? We're weak?

When a man is called a bitch that is the implication. For example, a prison bitch is somebody who sells himself for sex in exchance for protection. On the outside if somebody is ubable to deny another's request they are that person's bitch. Calling a man a bitch is to say he is on the same level as the female dog, which is why he is being called a bitch. Just because it means something differant to you it doesn't change the rest of the world

I learnt about curse words when I was maybe around 7 years old. My older brother and sister were happy to teach me all they knew.

That being said, I like curse words. They can be used to express a point in a way that 'social acceptable' words sometimes can't. My favourite word is 'fuck' because it is the most amazing word in the English language. You can use it in any sense you want. It can be a noun, a verb, an adjective, anything you can think of.

I don't think using curse words is a show of small vocabulary. I think some people can use them that way, but you can do that with any word. Personally, the word 'umm' is more appalling to my ears than 'shit', simply because of the way so many people have overused it.

Of course, I adjust my language when around small children or anyone easily offended, it's just polite to.

Oh! And personally, I find it much nicer to say "Shut the fuck up" than to say "Shut the front door". Same meaning, but the second is a babyish way of saying it and is an insult to my age and intelligence.

Sometimes, I just want to use offensive, jarring, sit-up-and-pay-attention words in my speech. It has nothing to do with how I talk when I'm not swearing.
This. I delight in using long words and in fact, got teased at school for talking with long words. However, I don't see why I can't swear. I can swear in two languages after all. XD

When it comes to life advice, Ermey's the place to go :P

Although I do believe the quote benefits from a bit of lengthening "I do not look down on niggers, kikes, wops or greasers; here you are all equally worthless."

Oh and Red Panda, is there any reason why any of this is true? because, at least as I was taught, to use more words is to have a large vocabulary and the intelligence to use it :P and what could be more creative than "Unorganized grab-asstic pieces of amphibian shit"?

and there's plenty of insults for both genders, from bitches and dicks to fags and dikes, where there's a word traditionally used for one, there's another for another. And while we're on the subject, I've always gone by the term "asshole" to refer to all people of either gender who are incredibly rude and mean while "bitch" refers to people who are rude, mean, and superior in the same manner.

If you actually have a large vocabulary you don't have to use swears. Swears should be reserved for situations that deserve them. Like if a guy rapes and murders 30 people he is a bastard. It cheapens the word when you call somebody who brought 23 items to the express lane a bastard

For a lot of people, it's not a matter of "have to." I have a fairly large vocabulary. I've been picked on since I was a little girl for using words people thought were too "advanced" for my age. I swear because I feel like it.

                            Period. Done. End of story.

Absolutely nothing matters beyond that in this situation.

You might know a lot of words but if you have to rely on swearing then you don't have the ability to use them very well.
