I can't say I can have an opinion becaue I haven't seen gay male sluts in action.

Just straight male and female sluts.

Never been to one. Interesting idea though.

Greenday, I think what was meant was to not assume people are promiscuous because of what they do at a bar.

I find it hard not to judge people in that light, though. I see so many people who spend way too much time being plastered and stupid and yes, skeezing around, and it's hard to not paint them as irresponsible.

Actually, I think the point was to not judge an entire group of people by what a segment of that group does at a bar, or even judge all the people in the bar the same. Not everyone goes to a bar to hook up. We don't judge all women by what some women do at a bar, and we don't judge all straight men by what some do at a bar. That same standard should be applied to gay people.

I don't know enough gay people to judge them by what they do in the sack or how often or with how many people. I know of a few very flamboyantly annoying (hand gestures, obnoxious lisp, outrageous clothes) gay men, but I just stay away from them.

I just know too many people who drink too much in general and make asses of themselves in so many ways, so I judge them as just being stupid.

...I don't really know where you guys got this whole assumption that I'm basing my opinions off of what I see at the bar. I'm basing my opinions off of the past four years of college, three of which I was too young to go into bars. My college had a fair amount of people in the LGBTQA community and there really wasn't much homophobia going on which was a nice change of pace. As a result, by the end of college, I ended up being friends with or at least kinda friendly with a lot of homosexual people. I've had friends from other areas (DC, Boston, random parts of Jersey) say they've noticed similar trends.

I'm not saying all gays are sluts or there are tons more gay sluts than straight sluts, but it just seems when I meet a gay person, they are more likely to be sleeping around and not worrying about settling down with someone.

I don't think you're unfairly judging, Greenday, as I myself attested to the fact that I openly do judge people by how they act at bars.

It may just be that way because there are more gay men where you live, or it's more accepted.

I only know of two gay guys personally, my ex and his ex. I know my ex much better than his ex. He's very much not slutty (still a virgin, actually) and though he's had several first and second dates, he's very picky about the kind of guy he likes. The guy I call his ex is the only guy he's had more than two dates with. They were only together for about a month or two, and he's no longer in our circle of friends because of the breakup. But as far as I can tell, he's not really slutty either.

Now my ex's forum buddies, on the other hand...don't know if they're actually slutty or just take a lot of pride in talking big... :P

You know, there's more orientations than just "gay" and "lesbian..."

Bi people! And if you think gays/lesbians are accused of being promiscuous, OMG, so are bisexuals. I am so tired of people thinking that I must be "bi-slutty." I can count the number of people I've ever so much as kissed on one hand. Yeah, it's only my personal experience, but...*shrugs* You know? I don't think any one orientation is "sluttier" than the other. You should see the straight guys at my college, if I hear one more guy brag about how many girls he's banged, I might have to hit him. It's ridiculous.

But that's not slutty, that's being a playa!

Okay, couldn't say that with a straight face. But that's why gays are seen as "sluttier" than straights. Because they aren't, but straight guys who sleep around aren't considered sluts for doing so.

Yeah, stupid bisexuals, promising they are interested in me and only me and next week being with a woman, how dare they

And no, I have never had that happen, every bisexual person I know has been faithful to whoever they were with at the time and almost never would just randomly switch which gender they were with at the time. Most of them truly were open to fall in love with anyone, rather than the stereotype of alternating back and forth by whatever met their fancy that week.

Thanks for saying that it's nice to hear a gay person understand where we come from

I don't think it's a matter of a orientation being more promiscuous as an age range. A lot of people who are college age are more likely to be playing the field than people in their 30's. Though if there is a serious bias against gay or bisexual people being able to marry, be in long-term relationships, have children, etc. why would it be surprising that the pendulum swings to the other extreme?

I actually remember last year, in my LGBTSA group on campus, there were some lesbian girls who would make a lot of jokes about bisexuals. And there comes a point when it's not just teasing, you know? They actually drove off some people because well, who wants to get all that shit in the "real world" and then come to a place where they're supposed to be safe and everyone is supposed to understand and get the same shit about how they "should pick a side" or how they have a bf and a gf. Thankfully, it's much better this year. [Particularly since the treasurer is bi. ]

And I mean, I wouldn't necessarily mind having both, but that's because I'm also a little bit poly...doesn't have a bit to do with me being bi.
