September 1st, 2016, new laws came into effect in BC limiting the use of e-cigs/vape pens.
While I do think a couple of the provisions are more stringent than they should be, I have absolutely no sympathy for the e-cig users who are crying foul and that the changes are unfair over this.
In particular, the provisions that have garnered the loudest protests;
How dare the government tell e-cig users where they can and cannot use them (Banned in workplaces, parks, and beaches, can't be within six meters of doorways)
The biggest reason that I have no sympathy for the e-cig users complaining about this is I have asthma, can be pretty bad some days. Unfortunately, the perfumed/scented vape triggers an asthma attack. The local vape users usual reaction to a request of not to blow the vape in my face, or my moving away a bit so the perfume doesn't bother me as much so I can breath easier, is to get in my face, belligerent, rude, condescending, and how dare I infringe on their rights.
Since e-cigs became a thing locally, I have had ONE vape user respond with 'Oh, sorry man' when I explain the reason why I am moving to the side or asking for it not to be blown in my face.
