  • Most Annoying Internet Commentors.

    Gotta love cracked.

The 8 Most Obnoxious Internet Commentors. They talk about the most annoying type of commentors who comment on articles and videos.

    Cliff notes version.

    8. The non believer: Someone who says that the video is fake or made up.
    7. The Macho Man: Someone who talks tough, claiming that if they were in the situation they would beat the shit out of said person.
    6. The defender: Someone who tells off others for making fun of the person in the article or video.
    5. Mr Science: Someone who is spouting scientific facts to correct others.
    4. Hitler's Apprentice: Racists.
    3. The Ninja: Trolls who just post stuff like "your a fag" and are never heard from again.
    2. Political Activist: Armchair political experts who spam their opinions on videos and articles completely unrelated to their views.
    1. Bots: More specifically spambots, particulaly when the stuff their advertising will only give you viruses and spyware.

Okay admit it, you've probably been guilty of a few of these. I'm guilty of 6 and 7. 6 because sometimes people online can be really cruel to those who don't really deserve it (like Rebecca Black. The song is bad, but people were horrible to her). 7 when something really upsets me. Like if someone is killing puppies for fun, I might have a kneejerk reaction and post some pretty nasty stuff about what I'd like to do to that person. Also, when I was younger and more immiture, I was number 3.

And because I always like to add my two cents, here's some commentors I can't stand.

-Broken Records: The ones who spam their opinions, C&Ping their post and continuing to post it again and again, even when their opinion has been rebuffed.

-Nitpickers: This occurs on message boards more often than articles and videos, but it can apply there too. Some people just have to nitpick completely irrelevent details and derail any interesting discussion. So someone used a word out of context or didn't post it in the right forum, does it really make a difference? I see this all the time on the TGWTG forums and TV tropes. You can't have any discussion without some stupid douchebag finding something to nitpick at.

-Blamers: Those who make it their personal mission to put the blame on someone they hate. For instance, I remember reading an article on some kids who set up a deadly prank and someone made a comment blaming "Obama's Socialism" for "teaching them not to take responsibility". So Obama is to blame for two douchebag kids doing something stupid? I didn't know he had that much power.

    1st!

Hahaha, sorry couldn't resist. I think sometimes the people who do that irritate me even more than the ones who actually take the time to comment on the actual article they are commenting on. The statement might be dumb or piss me off but at least it actually has something to do with the article!

Picking a nit does NOT derail a thread.

Later posters' choosing not to discuss the original material but instead ONLY to argue over the nit derails a thread.

As for the official list... for most of those, it's a matter of degree and situation. For example, there are times when it is appropriate to call out a fake; there are times when it's just obnoxious (say, when it's *not* faked, or when it's not presented as real).

I was watching a yogscast video about a midget Elvis and a Joker impersonating Batman at Vegas just befor Minecon (the Minecraft convention) and most if not all the top comments were "you don't tell kids to fuck off." which at the time had fuck all to do with the video, so I was a bit "eh? what's that got to do with this video." then it appeared on alot of their newer posts too.

There is a long internet drama about this incident alot of rageporn responces due to a twitter that TBH might have been something he did not witness and was only told about happening.
This is a whole new thread in itself so I won't go on any longer as its resolved itself more or less.

But, the point of me bringing it up is it's not the first nor the last time a video has been spammed due to something unrelated to the video.

And the "FAKE!!1!ONE" posts, god knows how many actually list the video as a fake in the title or the description, someone used a camcorder tracking filter with a CGI saucer a few years ago just to do a tech piece, hell the top linking video was the CGI fly by in wire frame flat shaded and then fully rendered, so s/he who made the video was not hiding the fact it was a fake flying saucer over the city filmed on a tape based camcorder with an old worn tape

As for nitpicking; depends what it is. If someone is being roundly pwned for their lack of spelling and grammar for no reason, it's a bit irritating cuz it distracts everyone from the actual point of the post, and makes it annoying for everyone who's struggling to bring it back on topic.

However, if someone's sole contribution is basically "ur gey u fag!1!eleventy" to a serious discussion, then frankly, all bets are off. I've been on forums that are pretty much self policed cuz the mods don't intervene for trifles such as twattage*, only for important stuff like posting personal info or trolling.

The worst place for idiot commenters has to be youtube, altho I've had some quite intelligent conversations on youtube before.

*My definition of people who will post in a debate topic, or on an article with nothing but "ur gey" and "i agree lol", which is irritating to anyone trying to discuss the topic in a mature fashion.

I love the political commentors! They will take anything...and I mean ANYTHING...and turn it into something that is either Congress and/or Obama's fault. Even if it's a celebrity story. Lol...the idiotic comments on the Yahoo news article are so entertaining!
