They just didn't have those sets at the local Target when I was looking for a birthday present for my nephew.
Target doesn't always have the 'bulk' sets. Those usually disappear around the holidays...so they have more room for the latest movie tie-in. Of course, if I had some of those bulk sets, I'd then have to drag out the rest of my collection...and let the minifigs take over. I'd spend hours playing with Legos when I was younger. Hard to believe that many of my sets are over 30 years old now
I know my bf is a video game addict, but I don't push him about it because he doesn't forgo bathing or basic hygene to play games....unlike a former coworkers and the Brown Noser I work with.
Besides, I have a bad shopping addiction. I'm pretty much broke from the holidays and nearly had a meltdown this afternoon because I couldn't go to the mall after the gym. Though, unlike the people you see on TV, I don't buy the most expensive clothes or stuff or charge to my cards, I just tend to have a hard time staying away from the mall. I tend to go to stores like Old Navy and spend $20 on like three pairs of clearance PJ pants and $5 long sleeve t shirts or clearance jackets for $10, or to Macy's and spend $10 a piece on clearance jeans for work. But, that money is still better off spent on bills or my car, which I still owe almost $10,000 on.
Of course, my resolution this year was to do more (voluntary) overtime and get more money. So, spending that time at work and not being able to shop as often will help.
Most of this *shrugs* not really something I can comment on the bawling your eyes out at 7 well yeah. Games used to frustrate me that bad when I was a kid. As an adult I just stop playing that one and pick another one.
I also separate out and give myself different activities to do. Here is a trick give him "secret missions" Make running around the neighborhood exploring a game.
My dad would get me out of the house by telling me to go be an explorer.
Lego store sells by bulk- they give you a container that you can fill, iirc. As for flash games, I am just going to slink my peripherally employed by Zynga ass out of the thread... >.> <.<
