Way too many, I could open up as a video rental service.
Most I got at tesco's on the way home from work for £3-5, more so now that the local HMV closed (kicked out of Lion Yard they said so they could rent the unit to someone else, when there are a few empty units in there too).
I keep most in a storage unit down the road from me, but it opens during office hours (and I did a lot of 11-19:00 shifts so only had a to do list in my room), work and the odd shifts I did a few years ago killed my oomph for the cinema, even though I still have their unlimited card, last movie I saw there was Predators, so DVD's were my way of catching up with all the films I missed.
Now having that many and sometimes not enough time to watch them, I ended up boxing them still wrapped for a later date and you guessed it, I have duplicates, 6-8 at the most, but they are mostly within the last 2 months.
One I think had a different cover and it was only when I started watching it that I had dejavu, that I got last halloween with alot of other horror movies for £3 at hmv, don't recall what I paid for it first time round, but £3 wasn't so bad.
Then going through bags of DVD's from my trip oop norf in may and a tesco bag from when I was pricing up a new pc just after and a more recent purchace I find 4 bloody identicle movies £20 in duplicates in one go, kinda hard to swallow that dip in the wallet especially as I probably chucked the recipt already.
I did say at another supermarket buying equally dirt cheap movies that I wasn't sure if I had Ferris Buler already or not (had the VHS) but with the recipt I could get a refund, well with the storage unit having god knows how many dvd's (98 to a long comic box) it would take me most of the day to catalogue it all so I didn't mind knowingly being unsure of a duplicate, these others I had not even considered buying before (that I knew of).
I have willingly bought one movie atleast 3 times, first time natch, then the 2nd and 3rd both at the same time as they were in a tripple play box set and I wanted atleast one of the others that came with it, I told the cashieer I knew it was in there twice but it was IMO a good movie (atleast for the soundtrack more than anything), the movie?
Once upon a time in the west.
So I think I'll off load the dupes on my brother, he probably won't know what they are seeing as he gets all his movies from the pirate bay and will use em as beer coasters
