No way that letter's real, and I'm surprised she used it without pointing that out directly. There is no shortage of people like that, but they wouldn't put it that way.

I don't care if the letter isn't real, it is exactly how I feel about the issue.

I have a fair number of GLBT friends thanks to having worked in restaurants and hanging out with all the wait staff and bartenders, and I never understood why anybody would not want them to be happy and be able to have the same chance with marriage as everybody else.

Advice columnist admits that many of the letters that are sent to them are fake. Some reprint the most obviously fake letters for their April Fools' Day columns.

I will agree that it is unlikely this was a genuine letter, but Amy thought it was plausible enough to use it.

It's highly likely it's fake and that she knows it, but it is how some people actually feel, and it's a good platform to raise the fact that you just shouldn't treat people like that.
