  • Who Capped JFK?

Tuesday I had a paper due on the Kennedy assassination. My teacher was the prosecutor and we were lawyers under him, helping him out. We had to basically sum up the case against Oswald and everything the defense would try to use. But it really got my class thinking about who actually did it?

Now, I already know my response, but I'm going to wait for a couple responses before I chime in with what I believe.

always figured there was some coverup to that one

There's a lot that went wrong that'd help that idea along. The Secret Service botched a lot up. Cleaning up the car when it got to the hospital. Mishandling other evidence. FBI/Secret Service being present at the autopsy and changing the doctor's procedures.

At this point, the belief that there was a conspiracy is such a foregone conclusion in people's minds that proof that Oswald did it alone would be the most shocking discovery of all.

I think it was aliens. Or maybe the mob. And Marilyn Monroe was involved in some way, too. Like, she hired the aliens or something. I'm still working on the script.

Oswald only just managed to scrape through his re-qual for shooting (at a static target), yet he managed to loose three rounds into either the presidents neck/back (dependant on which official report you read) and other areas in such an incredibly short space of time with a bolt action rifle?

The original rifle that was 'found' in the book repository(?) wasn't the rifle later shown.

One report concluded that <one person> was shot only the once, yet such a quantity of lead was removed from his wrist it was impossible that it was from one round.

The list goes on and on and on.

I'm not saying that there was a conspiracy, or that the mafia did it, or that the russians did. What I am saying is that there is such a mass of misinformation, destroyed/missing evidence and conflicting reports that finding out who actually did it is now nigh on impossible.

I voted other; I don't believe Oswald did it, but I have no theories on who actually did it.

Although I would have voted "The Comedian" if that had been an option.

I think you'll find it was a person named John Fitzgerald Kennedy. He was dressed in a police uniform, and shot from a grassy knoll. He had 4 companions with him - a Dave Lister, a hologram named Arnold J Rimmer, an android called Kryten, and the last descendant of a species of cat that had evolved over millions of years, called Cat.... They all came from a different timeline...
ZOE: Preacher, don't the Bible got some pretty specific things to say about killing?

SHEPHERD BOOK: Quite specific. It is, however, Somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Reasons for why I believe Oswald did it.

Motive: Oswald hated America. Absolutely hated America's government. Gave away military secrets to the Russians. Tried to work with the Cubans.

Means: Yea, he barely scraped by the second time he qualified, but since he did qualify as a sharpshooter at one time, we know he had the ability to do it. He owned the same rifle used for the shooting.

Opportunity: He worked at the building so he had complete access to it. He knew the area well so he could plan it out.

Did you know Oswald once tried to kill a Major General because he was anti-communist?

Since you've now thrown your hat into the ring, and because I don't know a hell of a lot about it, I'll ask:

How do you know all that about him? I mean, if the conspiracy theorists are correct, couldn't they have easily planted that information in the public's mind?

Also, what about the forensics regarding bullet trajectories etc??

A crapload of research. Oswald moved to Russia after ditching the Marines. While there, he publicly announced that he had been in the US Marine Corp, and that he had valuable information for the Russian government. He went to the US embassy, and while trying to get rid of his American citizenship, he admitted that he wanted to give up the military information that he had. After getting bored in Russia, Oswald moved back to America where he publically protested the American government and demanded drastic change. His wife admitted that Oswald had tried to kill retired Major General Edwin Walker. He applied for a visa to Cuba, which he eventually got, but because it "came too late", he wrote a letter to the Russian embassy in the US that had he gotten the visa earlier to Cuba, he could have went to the Russian embassy in Cuba and possibly have talked to Castro himself about helping him.

As far as the bullet trajectories go, when you watch the video, you see that JFK was sitting behind and slightly higher than Governor Connally. When you line up where JFK was shot and then where that same bullet hit the governor, and trace backwards linearly, it goes straight back into the sixth floor window of the book depository building.

I have actually done a lot of reading on this (have over a dozen books on the subject) and while I won't go into the details of why I have the opinion I have at this time, I will tell you what I think. To wit, I think there were 2-3 gunmen, but I think that Oswald was probably one of them. So I checked "Other," as there was not an option for "Oswald as part of a conspiracy."

I am not all that certain about the conspiracy being that high up in the government, due to the ridiculous levels any coverup would have to go to. Just my thoughts.

No no no. The One who shot John F. Kennedy was:

John F. Kennedy, with the aid of Lister, Kryton, Rimmer and Cat, who went back in time so Lister could do a curry run.

                          What he said. XD

Seriously, it was Oswald. History is full of cases of random nutters with a grudge against a certain authority figure; why constantly insist in gunmen behind the grassy knoll and conspiracy theories? O_o

I have read several books on the subject, including one which is written by an ME who actually worked on the case; there was no "magic bullet", the trachetomy done on JFK was performed thru the exit wound... oh yeah, and someone apparently stole Kennedy's brain. o_O
"Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."
