  • Barney Frank pwned a person asking a question.

I'm actually shocked that this hasn't been posted here yet. For those that have not seen it yet. I present Barney Frank here.

Not really a debate, I just got a kick out of the him tossing it back.

Hell, it's about time someone put these ass-troturfers in their place.

To answer Franks' question: she hails from planet Wingnuttia.

Ok... Let me get this right. She calls 'increasing healthcare' a nazi-style policy? Right? I heard that right?

      WTF?

Let's run through the lack of thought process.

I'm against this health reform idea, so I'll alter a picture of the black president to look somewhat like Hitler, and I'll refer to it as a Nazi idea to a gay jew, because claiming that people belonging to three groups Hitler's chums tried to destory is going to win hearts and minds. Oh, and not to mention the near-suicidal Godwinisation...

Failure so epic I can smell it from over here.

        By the way, hilarious putdown.

You know I'm all for people speaking their mind, but people like this really need to stop taking up causes because it makes those that are for that same cause, but doing it the right way, look bad.

Yeah, WTF is right. If Obama's plan for health care reform is equivalent to socialism and all that other crap those ignoramuses are spouting, then what is so good about the current health care system? Is it good that people are paying out the nose just to get their medication, going broke just to pay off hospital bills or even to have simple tests done by a specialist? Is it good that insurance companies fight tooth and nail to not have to pay a dime to cover the costs but won't hesitate to make you cough up more dough for deductibles and premiums?! To Mr. Barney Frank, thank you for finally telling off idiots like that lady. Thank you!

I dislike Barney Frank with a passion. I want him out of office now. At the same time, I don't think he was wrong and that lady made my argument look asinine. Oh and you just wait. This health care reform bill isn't a Trojan Horse for socialized medicine, it's right there.

Of course, because oh my god, people might have a better chance at getting healthcare. Don'tcha know, the ebil gummint's gonna plant chips in everyone and kill us all off so they can rule teh world.

If citizens can get affordable healthcare and nationwide coverage, then good. I'm fucking lucky, I pay less than $100 a month for full medical/dental/vision coverage with decent coverage and benefits. I was uninsured for a while and it -sucked-. I went to the ER when I broke my foot and it cost me $500 to have the Doc give me a pair of crutches and tell me to wear my shoe for a week.

So don't give me that bullshit about "omg socialism".

No one is saying that the current system doesn't need fixing.
This blanket, government-run proposal goes WAY to far.

The astroturfers are the unioin people, not the average Americans who don't what the government taking over their healthcare. It has been shown that unions are busing / packing halls with pro-obamacare supporters.

Hmm, filling the place with pro-health for all people as opposed to having supporters who try and accuse others of being nazis. I'm trying to work out which is worse.

                        Not taking me long.

The only reason average Americans don't want the government taking over healthcare is because they've been lied to. I get decent health care, and it doesn't cost me a fortune - none of it goes into the pockets of the shareholders because, let's face it, I am one of the shareholders!

Oh really? So where were these "average Americans" during the last election? Obama made no secret of his plans to reform health care, and yet he won by a landslide. Now all of seven months later, a massive groundswell of "grassroots" opposition has suddenly sprung up out of nowhere? I don't think so!

But you know what, lets pretend for the sake of argument that the last election didn't happen. That still wouldn't change the fact that the arguments shouted out loudest by these anti-healthcare trolls are utter crap. Health care reform is a nazi policy? Bullshit.

But the real travesty here is that these trolls aren't just shouting down voices of support for Obama's plan. They're also drowning out voices of legitimate opposition. Without those, without meaningful debate, the American people are more likely to get screwed all over again.

I have no idea who Barney Frank is, but I saw that exchange on the news and <3 it.

If more politicians would actually call these lunatics on their BS maybe there could be some sort of semi-intelligent debate around the issue.
