I live in IL(going to school in WI) and I had some teachers in HS who had their Bachelor's and they were going back for their Master's.
As for being in a nicer area, yes, nicer than some. For the most part, we were poor. I dunno if it's part of a new thing where lesson plans have be so articulate, since my High School experience was more recent than some on here. the teacher I was a student aide for my senior year let me look at his lesson plans, so I could get an idea of what I was looking forward to.
Holy crap is all I have to say.
So maybe standards are different these days. I was mainly referring to High School, if that clears anything up.
