So what does it mean then when you take the fact that Clinton was not convicted after his impeachment? To me, that tells me that his trial proved that he did not perjure himself.

Also, let's not forget one thing...before the Iraq war turned into an "occupation," quite a few in Congress, on both sides, were backing it. Including, one "I voted before the war, before I voted against the war" guy named John Kerry. That is, as soon as it became clear that it was going to drag on, they changed sides.

I'm not really sure I could blame them. The situation from what you say had changed.

"Tally ho! In we go, kick that blighter Hussein in the jodphurs, don't you know? Give those frightful foreigners some democracy and they'll be grateful for it. We'll be back for crumpets before the day's done. Top hole!"

That was a vague parody of the original idea.

It became, "We can't pull out and we can't stay in. Oh crap - every dead American soldier is a vote lost."

People - including politicians - who don't respond to changing circumstances will fail.

By and large a party line vote from both parties. I know some broke ranks, but not all. And, it was a 50-50 split decision on obstruction of justice which is also against the law. Largely a party-line vote again. Partisan bull-shit politics. If it had been the other way around, a Republican would've gotten off as well.
