Entertainers do not damage the political process. Beck is more a pundit/commentator. He's only entertaining till you realize some people believe him. Then he's scary. >.>

He does have some sort of issues though, frankly. Either that or he's Heath Ledger level acting. The former is far more likely.

If GB is such a big pile of shit then why all the heartburn?
Don't you have CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS et al. to watch and listen to?
Is the liberal position so weak it can't stand some scrutiney (sp)?
Cry Havoc and let slip the marsupials of war!!!

Was a liberal ever inspired to anger by Anderson Cooper? Or Wolf Blitzer? Or Keith Olberman? Suzanne Malveaux? ANY correspondent for CNN or MSNBC? Unlikely. Lou Dobbs used to annoy me a bit, but only because he couldn't say the word 'China' without adding 'Communist'. Beck and his kind (I'm looking at you Bill O'Reilly) spread malice, fear, ignorance, and pure, raw, seething hatred for anyone who doesn't subscribe to their fundamentalist, racist, misogynistic, and completely ass-backwards viewpoint. Fact is, thankfully, their 'fans' are dying. The world is slowly, but surely, becoming a more liberal environment. They're desperate for new fundies to take the place of the old ones. All of this bile is supposed to somehow inspire a new generation, that the liberal President and his evil cronies are gonna take all their money and give it to poor people! Oh, noes! That we might actually uphold the separation of church and state! In some select areas, it works - if you've ever driven on a major highway through Missouri, you've seen the handicraft of these people.

I do take comfort that they are a dying breed. It's a matter of time.

          AdminAssistant said it perfectly.

I also find it odd that the people who told us for eight years to "stand by the president, no matter what!" are now calling for us to distrust our president and to overthrow/vote him out.

Yet those that are calling for all to stand by the current president didn't do so with the last president and called for his impeachment, arrest and death. Ironic huh???

Olberman's only regret is that he can't simultaneously take in anally and give oral to Obama at the same time.
So one cable news channel with some "out-of-touch" commentators as you describe them that cater to a dying audience causes you all this heart-burn? Again I ask is the liberal agenda so weak that it can't stand up to some scrutiny? Or does the liberals want to stop all debate and only allow one view?
Having not been through Missouri I don't know what you're speaking so I can't comment.
Dying breed??? Recent polls do not agree as far more people discribe themselves as conservative than liberal.

Not really. The irony in the situation is that those who said to support the president no matter what, no longer do. The current situation shows that those who called for Bush's impeachment have belief's that don't rely on who's in office.

I find your first comment about Olbermann to be hilarious, considering you seem to be willing to do so for Faux News.

Agreed. People like Bill O'Reilly were calling people traitors an Un-American for speaking out against Bush. But now that a Democrat is in the White House, it's a whole different story. That train of thought left the building and vanished without a trace. Obama wasn't even in office for a month before people were shouting for his impeachment.

Tanasi, The Liberals aren't being scrutinized. They're being put through a witch hunt of sorts. Lies are constantly being spread about those in office and what they're doing or not doing. Examples are where he was born, the alleged taxes and bans he's planning for gun owners, Death Panels, and other assorted bullshit. He's being accused of things that were brought up and shot down long before he was even elected.

Pro-life/anti-abortion/religious billboards everywhere. Through parts of I-55 there was one every half-mile or so. And not, "Please consider these options." They were, "Jesus will hate you if you do not do your part to save babies. RAAHHHHH" (My personal favorite billboard from that trip was one that just said, in bold, all capital letters, JESUS. I mean, Jesus what?) These were interspersed with billboards proclaiming that the end of the earth would come from liberals/Democrats/Obama. Oh, and billboards for all the XXX shops along I-70, which were hilarious, but I digress.

Oh please. What Admin said, ten fold. This has nothing to do with liberal or conservative or whatever the hell two groups it is this year that you like to polarize the world into to maintain the "us vs them" quota. I'm not American, I'm watching from the outside in and watching your political process over the last 8 years or so be reduced to what is little more then a kindergarten by people that hold viewpoints that should have died out in the 1800s.

You don't realize just how god damn absurd and terrifying your politics and media are to the rest of the world, do you? ><

So there are a few liberals with credibility, imagine that.
You assume too much about Fox News and me. I only tune in when certain topics and/or certain guests are on. I don't agree with all they say not even most. I do like that Fox at least tries to give both sides of an arguement and does include liberals on discussion panels. On other MSM channels the panels are loaded with liberals and have a token right-leaning moderate in the role of a conservative.

This witch hunt is new??? The speculation and/or out right lies are new??? Currently I'm not worried about any firearms/ammo restrictions because it seems to finally have gotten through the demos thick skulls that anti-Second Admendment will cost they elections. I do worry about taxes going up because I know with the deficites of the past few years taxes will have to be increase and new taxes laid on. My wife and I would like to expand our businesses and hire more folks but we're not going because while I'm far from rich the liberals are their ilk are raring to stick it to me because I have "more than I need."

So basically you dislike the way these folks are expressing their opinions??? Guess what you don't have to like and they don't have to like yours, but you should respect their right to do so as they should yours.
Around here we have similar billboards but not regarding abortion, most are black back-grounds with white letters saying various things my favorite is "Don't make me come down there. God".
Heck just about every interstate around here has a giant cross built along-side them. The crosses are on private land and illuminated at night. No message on them they're just there. A few years ago some non-believers tried to get them torn down based on the "Church/state" arguement but they didn't suceed as the state nor county had no hand in them.

Let's look at the primary argument of Beck and the Tea Party folks (I should take a moment to point out here that Beck was NOT a huge Bush fan either so it's not like he's only anti-Democrat) which is: Obama et al. are spending this country into a huge deficit hole we'll never get out of.

It's not a disputable point that deficit spending is a reality (and was when Bush was pres, I know) and will only cause more problems down the line.

I don't agree with all of Beck's positions or theories but I do agree that we need a fiscally responsible government in place and I don't think the current adminsitration fills that role. People are upset at how their tax dollars are being spent and about the coroprate bailouts and all that. These are not theories, this stuff all actually heppened. It's not like people are getting riled up primarly by fabrications.

Guess what the world is a polarizing place, since the dawn of time it's always been me vs the world and if you don't believe that then you're hopelessly nieve. Also praytell what are these ancient "viewpoints" of which you type?

Actually, I guess I should thank them, since they point out where the small-minded fundies live, and I try to stop and spend money on gas and food elsewhere. (Or, where I might get glared at for being a woman and wearing pants or some other unforgivable sin)

Actually, our politics are very much Canada's business, as not only are they our neighbour () they are important political allies. We are not all by ourselves on this lonely planet, as some would like to think. There are actually other countries out there that we need to be working with, not against. For example, did you know that there are other countries fighting with us in Afghanistan? Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand...all kinds of Allies! But it's an American war, just like WWII became an American war the second we got involved.

Ah, those ancient viewpoints...like the Bible being a source for our laws, that women really do belong in the kitchen, affirmative action is the source of all evil, gays and lesbians are just diseased, and God's love will "heal" them, or by golly, let's just beat the gay out of them! People on welfare should just get a damn job, my money is my money, not the governments, blah blah freakin' blah.
