I bet people's reactions would be alot different if somebody was talking about shooting or blowing up an Obama billboard

What is so interesting about it? Seriously.

To me, it just seems that they're sore because their man lost the election, which is fine, because I've been known to get bummed out when elections don't turn out the way I wanted them to.

Could they have picked a more obnoxiously posed picture of Bush for their billboard? I am no big fan of the ex-pres myself, but damn! If your aim is to try and advocate for your favorite ex-president, wouldn't you want to pick a picture of him that DIDN'T make him look like an over-the-hill fratboy douche?

Thanks Fryk! I have to clean off my monitor. And you're right, they could have used a different picture.

guywithashovel - I understand feeling bad when you vote, and the election doesn't go the way you want it to go, but .. I've never thought of renting a billboard and plaster a face and message on it. (Besides, I think I would have had Hillary Clinton with the words: Don't you wish the Democratic Party had chosen me for their candidate instead?)

No, I don't. Very, VERY much don't... but that's a whole different kettle of fish

Besides, wouldn't a billboard be more productive dealing with the here and now and not how you lost before? I would, personally, have a billboard criticizing the current president's policies. That, and, I've got no reason to regret the results anyway.

I don't think they're sore about McCain loosing because most in the GOP knew he wouldn't be much better than Obama. Both would be bad for the small business world. Bush was pro-business because he tried to keep taxes and regulations low for business people (heck he was one at one time.) Obama (life long politician) and to a slightly lesser extent McCain (retired Navy veteran and politican) are anti-business and seem to think there's a undrainable lake of tax money they can pump from the small-business community. More people suffer when small-businesses suffer because they employ more people than big-business. In reality the only employment segiment that's really growing is government.

That's a good point, actually. So what if I DID miss you? You had your two terms, you aren't coming back.

As far as I know Obama at least claims to support smaller businesses (no idea if he'll back that up). As for the "Garden of Eden in 100 days", he's been very open from the start, I think, that while he wants to try to set change in motion, it'll take years of long, hard work that must be done by his admin, those following, Congress and the people. He only speaks of wanting to get it started. And yet he's been in office barely a year and people are acting like he lied because they're not seeing drastic changes yet - despite congress being a bunch of do-nothings too busy with infighting to get any work done. He's STILL saying it: This is going to take lots and lots of work, and not everything that's wrong is going to get addressed immediately; if we spread ourselves too thin, we dilute the effectiveness of the work. Pick a problem, work on a solution, then work on getting it done.

Even if he doesn't end up doing what is claimed... (1) Give the admin a few years to try to do things. (2) No matter what we do, it's going to cost lots of money, unless the plan is "Everything is A-Okay, just leave it the way it is and go about your business". (3) Don't blame the Obama admin if Congress, Left Right and Center, are a bunch of dolts and louts who care more about getting reelected and/or clobbering each other over the head than actually getting anything done. (4) He's the ONLY person I've seen in politics in a long time that has continued to be direct about what he thinks needs doing AFTER being elected, can speak clearly and concisely about it without too much vagueness or generalizing, and says he wants to hear both sides' ideas, though he also admits he understands that true bipartisanship never really happens; as the phrase goes, he'll settle for a lack of open hostility. The Bush admin: always fronted everything with an open and direct air of secrecy, as though asking questions was unpatriotic; were fronted by a man who was abjectly awful at public speaking without a script, as he really tended to stumble hard; and was backed by people who talked at you as though you were already a known threat. And further, stated quite clearly that they had all their plans set in stone, and needed no input because they knew what we need, and we don't. Oh, and didn't give a shit what congress did or said; they just did whatever they wanted, and flaunted it, too. At least Obama is SAYING "everyone come up with plans, present them, and we'll see which work...and what works may be a combination of them"

As to the billboard. Miss you yet? No. I'm glad you're gone. Worst President in history? I don't know about that, but whether you like or hate the admin that backed him. Bush sucked. He was willfully ignorant of world views and ways, openly and unabashedly cared little about others around him, was a horrible orator, seemed to do very little decision-making, never took any questions that weren't both scripted and generic, and actively did not read anything - allowed his cabinet to tell him everything. I don't believe the guy was truly stupid, but I'm certain he was not worldly in the slightest, and didn't think it was necessary. I think he had "crafty smarts" and knew how to be tricky, and I think to a degree he understood that Cheney, Rumsfeld etc. were doing the work - I think he was satisfied being a figurehead. And I don't think the fact that he sucked at unscripted speaking meant he was an idiot, I think he just sucked at unscripted speaking. And the infamous Bush "smirk" was, in my opinion, just the way he smiled - I believe his smiles (smirks), his jokes and down home country-isms and his Texas twang were him trying to be a likeable, amiable "guy you could have a beer with".

Miss me yet billboard - Round 2!

Now we're being asked if we miss ex-President Jimmy Carter!

So! Who is the worse President so far? Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Jr., or Barack Obama.

The billboard featuring Jimmy Carter was put up the day after the healthcare reform bill was passed in the House.

And don't forget: Jimmy Carter had to contend with gas shortages (there were actually rationings, gas coupons, extremely long lines at the pumps, and then there were the Americans who got kidnapped in Beruit).

Well, with all punditry set aside, we'll have to wait a while before we can really see the effects of Bush Jr and Obama, so I think it's safe to say that the jury is still out on them.

Most people don't consider Carter to be a very stellar president, and maybe they're right. But once again, in fairness, much of the problems that he faced during his presidency had been present all through the 70s, before he took office. For example, high inflation had been an issue for much of the decade, and there were gas shortages and a severe recession under Nixon's watch.

And if it was the republicans that won the election the site would not exist. Despite their (pathetic) attempts to make it appear impartial, there's notes all over the site that point straight at it coming from a GOP sheep.
