Legal immigrants pay taxes like you or me so they like us already are paying for it.
If your goal is to stop parents from being able to stay here because of their kids you have two options
1) Take custody of the child away from the parents and then kick them out.
2) Don't give the kid citizen ship and send him back with his parents.
Otherwise they get to stay too.Jack Faire

If one or both parents are a citizen child is a citizen...
If no parent is a citizen child takes the status of the parents.
that is what the federal law should say... how ever because it says whoever is born on US soil is a citizen... Arizona is in the wrong and will be bitched slapped for it.

My grandparents barely had a middle school education between the both of them. Both loved their country (USA) and my grandfather served his country in the Army during WWII-a time when he was discriminated against. He and my grandmother paid poll taxes to exercise their AMERICAN RIGHTS in the 1950s. He worked as a civilian worker at Kelly AFB for over thirty years. If anyone says he and myself, and my family...most of whom have served this country ADMIRABLY need a damned test to be considered good enough, then they can go stuff themselves.Where does that leave those who reach 18 without passing the test? They cannot logically be classified as *any* kind of immigrant if they were born here (and especially if their parents are citizens) so what are they?
I actually like this idea. If people have to earn the rights of America maybe they will apreciate them more and put more effort into voting. Might even make some people pay more attention in school.
As for the Arizona law, I guess it is technically illegal even though I agree with it. I think the best alternative would be to deport the parents and put the child in foster care. While this would be a burden on the foster care system hopfully the threat of seperation will act as a deterent to illegals who want to have kids in America. They should go as far as to change the child's name and destroy any documents that could lead the parents back to the child to ensure the child is lost to them forever.

They could easily expand the definition of military service that anybody could serve, even if all they do is mop floors all day. They could even set it up that you could request a "special assignment" in the case that your family has a farm for example and they can't afford to replace you so you spend the majority of your service working on the farm, although still answering to your superior officer.
So that the child could never know where he came from, and, more importantly, have their family's medical history?

If the parents loved the child enough to become citizens the child would never have been taken away. I think that fact should be made clear. Illegal immigrants should be demonized for being law breakers who care about nobody but themselves.
Hopfully that kind of attitude will make the child realize that you have to work hard and follow the rules to get what you want in life.
