  • Choice or Necessity...

YouTube posting of the CSPAN coverage

This is 6 minutes of Dennis Kucinich (D - OH) grilling Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and making him admit that all of the things Walker has been trying to push through as necessities are of no fiscal value whatsoever despite Walker's previous contentions that they would be required to balance the state budget.

It does have a budget effect, as soon as they workers don't have unions, you can come back and lower there wages.

I love how he says stopping union dues will help the workers, I think not because they will soon lose wages and benefits

From what I recall from other people's posts who are from Wisconsin, I'm pretty sure even those not in the unions had to pay union dues. So yes, it will help the workers. Just only the workers who aren't part of the stupid union.

I don't remember seeing anything like this. Not doubting you, just wish I had seen those posts.

If anyone has a link confirming or refuting this, I'd be interested in it.

I have a friend of mine who lives and works in Wisconsin, so can give her example (very limited, but better than nothing ). When she went to work at her part-time job, she was given the choice of either paying non-union member dues, or joining the union, and paying the full dues..and the union gave no benefits to part-time employees. The amount for non-union was about 2/3 what it'd be to just join the union, and while never stated, it was presented that if she didn't pay, she'd lose her job.
