Umm...John Edwards cheated on his wife while she was being treated for cancer and still cheated on her while she was dying from cancer after the treatment failed. He also lied to her twice about breaking it off because, according to his political staff, she was "crazy" but she polled well with his supporters. Then he knocked his mistress up, filmed a sex tape with her and had his staff help him cover it up using campaign funds which is why he was indicted last summer and is currently on trial. Meanwhile his wife died of cancer last Christmas.

Soooooo, yeah. Think that says a lot about how he would govern. So perhaps he's not the best example to use ;p

Only one accuser has willingly come out publicly. Sharon Bialak, it has been noted by a few eye witnesses, saw Herman Cain a month ago at a Tea Party rally. She went right up to him, hugged him, and talked to him for a long while. If, he had harassed her, and she was nervous around him, why would she do something like that? In front of people who would remember her?

As for the other accusers? They are all "anonymous". Can we really believe them? If the media were trying to seem unbiased, wouldn't they do their homework? Make sure the women really wanted to talk about this and get their names? You know, the people could be anyone who had a beef with Cain because he looked at them funny one day and are jumping on the bandwagon.

Karen Kraushaar is, I believe, the one who has the sealed agreement where she cannot talk about what happened to her. She only came forward to talk about it after the media outed her. Otherwise, she was going to stand by the gag order. Now, I think she's going to try to get the paperwork opened.

Plus, Mr. Cain has hired Lin Wood, who is known in lawyering circles as being the best libel/defamation lawyer in the country.

What is probably driving the media crazy, that even though this story is in its second week, Herman Cain has been raising money for his campaign hand over fist. For his Iowa fund, he wanted to raise $999,000. He has made that mark and has gone beyond it.

Jimmy Williams, a guest on MSNBC, says Herman Cain should be forced to register as a sex offender because of these harassment claims.

Brian Williams, from NBC, has alluded to the fact that the GOP should be a little uncomfortable that Cain has been accused of harassing WHITE WOMEN. None of the women accusing Herman Cain of sexual harassment are black. Shouldn't black men only harass black women, not white women? The GOP is the party of the racists (though at least one prominent DEMOCRAT was in fact former, Ku Klux Klan Member - Senator Byrd ring a bell?)

Yeah ... Not sure why the media decided to go after Herman Cain first. Could be because he is the strongest candidate to be nominated to run against President Obama.

Also, there are some in the media, who are convinced Herman Cain is not seriously running for the Presidency. Wishful thinking on their part?

Certainly wishful thinking on my part. This is a guy whose foreign policy experience can be summed up in one statement: "If they ask me who is the President of Uz-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan, then I'll say that I don't know." I mean, really?

Surprisingly, many women who have been sexually harassed and assaulted don't like to scream about it from the rooftops. It's not a grand liberal conspiracy. The fact that he paid off some of these women and placed them under gag orders says quite a bit to me.

But, like I said, he's a GOP candidate, so blatant sexual harassment probably just makes him even more accessible to the Good Ol' Boy club. He still doesn't have a snowball's chance against Obama.

ETA: Strongest candidate? Really? No. The most electable ticket would be Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsmen, and when a couple of Mormons are the best that you've got, that's saying something. Rick Perry is too Yosemite Sam-like, Michelle Bachmann is just crazy, and nobody else is even worth mention. Herman Cain wouldn't last 30 seconds in a debate against President Obama. He has absolutely no foreign policy experience or knowledge, and as we wrap up one war and start finishing up another one...a leader with a solid foreign policy background is important. The only reason the GOP sees him as electable is that he's an outsider, which voters like, and he's a former CEO, which means that he's sympathetic to businesses.

Actually, Herman Cain didn't "pay off" the woman. The organization he worked for did. Big difference. Also, he was not aware of what the complaints said and the exact wording of the gag order. That was done by lawyers for the National Restaurant Association.

And this just in: Karen Kraushaar filed complaints against her next job at the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Basically complaining that she was turned down for working at home after a "serious car accident" in 2002. However, at least 2 supervisors said she was turned down for working at home at least once before the car accident. She also alleges an e-mail joke that circulated throughout the organization in which it compared computers to women and men, possibly similar to this one?, was sexually charged.

The promotion itself would have increased her annual salary between $12,000 and $16,000, according to salary tables in 2002 from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
ETA: As for President Obama. No one really thought he would get the Democratic ticket. It seriously looked like Hillary Clinton was going to be the nominee. Then BAM! The media started talking Obama up and all of a sudden, a man who had been a senator for only 2 years, who was just putting out feelers to see if he could run eventually. But the media played him up. Maybe they were scared the American people weren't ready for a woman president?
