They can clean the schools, rather than learn in them.
and the ones that don't want tax dollars paying for abortions, seem to forget that once the government has tax money it's no longer yours. And for some reason they see paying for a one-time medical procedure to be more "expensive" than paying to support a child with a genetic defect incomparable with independent living, or severe brain damage from maternal drug/alcohol use for life(SSI is awarded to these children), I don't have any issue with SSI, however it seems a bit in-congruent...

It's another living, breathing organism they can tax further down the track.

And most people forget about the ownership of taxes full stop: they whinge and rant about not wanting their taxes to pay for <Blah> when they have no say over it. For instance, my taxes could be going towards paying one dickhead cop.

Also how many men realize that if the Government sets the precedent of being able to tell women what they will and will not do with their bodies that no one is safe.

            They came for the women...

            ... because Mars needs women.

People hear forget why the American Revolution was fought. It wasn't about taxes, it was about taxes without representation. They like to bring up what rate the colonists went crazy about and how it is much lower than what we pay now. Yes, the rate set them off but what set them off more is that they were being asked to pay these taxes without any input.

Which is still done to Americans today. IE Work in one state live in another you have to income tax to the state you work in but don't get a vote in how they are spent.

It sounds like Doonesbury is going to be taking this on. I can't wait.

As far as I know, at the clinic they make you have an ultrasound anyway to be sure you're *actually* pregnant. No sense in gearing up for the whole procedure if you're not really preggers.

There's a difference between an ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound.

yes, I've had both, a trans-vaginal ultrasound is highly uncomfortable.....

                        regular ultrasound

trans vaginal ultrasound wand-for reference, it's 10 inches long.

Oh THAT'S what they're talking about? Well that's just awesome!

What pray tell is the point?

They're opposed to abortions occurring and think that while they can't ban them outright, they can try and put women off having them by making the procedure extra invasive and unpleasant.

                              I got an idea.
How about one of those transvaginal ultra sound wands must be inserted into the urethra of any male who votes for it? Nothing for the pain, and if they pass out it must be re-inserted until they manage to stay awake for it.

See how they like some one else trying to control their body.

I love how the same ones who don't want abortions are the same ones whining about having to pay out welfare and foodstamps and medical care for all these extra kids...

Is it just me or is that some sort of logical fallacy. It's like saying "I want to go outside, completely naked, while it's raining, and not get wet."
