  • Britain Declares Romney is Worse Than Sarah Palin

Because it takes a real genius to piss off the entirety of a nation within one day of being there. Wow, Mitt. Wow. That hole he's digging keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn't it?

ETA: I'm very anxious to hear what Raps and our other lovely British members have to say about this.

It's amazing that Romney would decry that, since privitization has been the REpublican mantra forever.

The fail by the Republican party in this election gets more hilarious every day it seems.

Apparently Romney is now trying to use an out-of-context and incorrect quote from Obama in his campaign. During a speech, Obama was talking about how roads and bridges were built by the government and the people, and that "successful people didn't get there on their own - they had help." At one point, Obama is talking about roads, and says, "If you own a business, you didn't make that!" He then clarifies that the "that" referred to in the previous sentence includes roads and bridges (not the business itself).

Romney is now playing that one quote over and over again in political ads, trying to make it sound like Obama is saying business owners didn't build their own business.

It's not hilarious until there's no chance he will win. Until then, it's just scary.

God, Britain too now? Didn't he just cause an international incident in Australia? ><

Interesting. That is a piece by a journalist claiming that he'd be worse than Palin. I think the main way that could be true is the simple fact that Palin wouldn't have a chance of being voted in, whilst he's got a scarily good chance on the last poll results I remember seeing.

What's really fascinating is that the Mail is usually pretty right wing and should have been all over him under normal circumstances.

Hmm well if he keeps going the way he is, I do believe those chances will get lower and lower.

I was pretty set on voting Republican this election cycle...until I saw who the candidates were. I have never seen a weaker bunch of nominees for the Republican ticket...well, ever. So I'm most definitely not voting for Romney this November. Whether I'll vote for Obama or a third party candidate has yet to be decided.

What has me frustrated is that, while I vote on the issues and the person, many of my friends, and even my parents, will be voting for Romney even though they don't like him just because he's not Obama. I actually haven't met a single person who thinks that Romney is a good candidate. He's a fucking robot. At least Obama seems like a real human being.

To be brutally honest with you, there is absolutely no reason to vote Republican in this cycle, or the last cycle, or even the one before it, unless you are an incredibly wealthy white male.

Any other demographic is on the cornhole block for the GOP unwittingly lubing up their backside.

That's an opinion. You're welcome to it, but please don't state it as though it's a "brutally honest" fact. And please don't look down on me just because I vote differently than you would were you an American.

                        Please educate us.

What's in it for you if you vote for and get a Republican candidate in office?

Don't forget straight. Or so far in the closet everyone thinks you are. Even being rich won't get you nearly as many rights as a gay man.

That's an incredibly common opinion based on the fact that, generally speaking, if you aren't wealthy, white, Christian, and straight, there is guaranteed some part of the party line actively working to repress you, with the wealthy part being the demographic most supported by the party.

I, too, am quite interested to know what, precisely, you would gain by having specifically a Republican in office?

What will I gain from either party being elected?
