I seriously wish there was an island that once sent there no one could ever leave, that way we could round up all these people and drop them on it. That way we could all be rid of them.

You know, this is just getting old. This is honestly like a fucking family guy skit at this point--What ELSE can a Repub say to make their entire side look horrible?

And, fuck, those sound like Onion articles! But their not! This depresses me....

How can politicians be so extreme that their own actions sound like a parody? And worse yet, how can people still vote for them when they do this?

Me too. Are you in Arkansas or Georgia?

In Paul Broun's case, at least, nobody seems to want to run against him.

              Arkansas.

And it makes me mad, because I go around telling people how nice it is here, that people are (generally) really nice, not racist, that Southerners are good people...and then fuckers like this go out and ruin everything.

What's worse, and is mentioned only briefly in that article, is that Georgia Rep. Paul Braun (the guy who thinks that the Theory of Evolution is the Devil's handiwork) is on the House Science Committee's oversight panel.

How do we have a House Science Committee made up completely of non-scientists? Instead, it seems to be made up of people who have never taken a science class in their life.

That's the scary part. He is a scientist. He holds a doctorate. And yet he disavows the very things he's supposed to have learned.

It depends on what kind of degree he holds. Although I guess there aren't too many sciences where you get away from either evolution or the big bang theory.

I'm starting to feel bad for Republicans like Jim Edgar, Ray LaHood, Aaron Shock and Ronald Reagan. How are these four from the same party as the aforementioned nutjobs in the original post?

A medical Doctorate, plus a Bachelor's in Chemistry. He was a physician before running for office.

In addition to rejecting evolution, he also rejects the Big Bang theory and calls both theories as well as Embryology "lies from the Pit of Hell". And he's a Young Earth Creationist and bible literalist.

Georgia knows how to pick them, I guess.

Before casting any more stones, perhaps the Democratic party needs to tend to their own...

I like how it's assumed that the people bashing the scary Republican base are assumed to be Democrats, despite the fact that several posters are from entirely different countries.

And are you seriously trying to claim that the Dems have managed to even come close to the insanity of declaring slavery to have been a good thing and the theory of evolution to be the work of the devil?
