  • VP candidate "Does the dishes" in photo OP

Now this was an unscheduled stop AND it is unclear whether Ryan acutally did wash SOME dirty dishes.
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

No he didn't and it wasn't approved by the charity.

It's looks like he washed "some" for a "few minutes.'

Big deal. Wash them for several hours and then it'll mean something, especially if you do it on a regular basis.

This is worse than kissing a baby in its sheer disingenuousness.
Good news! Your insurance company says they'll cover you. Unfortunately, they also say it will be with dirt.

Not only that, but the place he stopped in, unannounced and without an appointment, specifically avoids such photo ops and the like to maintain it's political impartiality, since they're a faith-based organization, and the guy who runs it takes the Separation Clause rather seriously.

So, not only did Ryan drop in unannounced and basically throw their own operations into a lather over his presence, do just enough work to make a nice photo op (some reports note that the dishes he washed were already clean), but he made the guy running things fear for his funding over being there at all.

Plus, I do have to wonder what it was he talked about with the resident homeless people; the press weren't allowed to observe those interactions.

My local media states that there were no resident homeless people present - the kitchen had closed down for the day, when Ryan showed up, so the residents had gone to their dorms where Ryan and his entourage had no access.

(Also, there is doubt whether the place was a shelter with sleeping accomodation or just a soup kitchen.)

Now there's a backlash from the right wing directed at the soul kitchen for "embarrassing Ryan". How the fuck? They're losing donations and mouthbreathers are protesting on their Facebook site.

Refusing to help feed the poor anymore because a lying sack of shit politician embarrassed himself. Just what Jesus would have wanted!
