Let me be utterly blunt here: You're what I don't understand about America.

Looking at the situation from the outside in, in order to seriously make that statement you would have to literally have been under a rock for 4 years. Or alternatively drinking Fox News Koolaid. To be unaware of everything Obama has done to save your country from economic ruin, and done it in *spite* of the party you're voting for doing everything in their power to interfere.

Not because they have better ideas or give a shit about you, but because they want to ruin him so you'll vote them back into power to fuck the place up yet again. They do NOT give a rat's ass about you or your country. I mean for fuck sake's they blocked the 9/11 First Responder's bill.

Nevermind that Romney is practically a pathological liar that will say or do, and HAS said or done absolutely ANYTHING to get people to vote for him. I have no idea how anyone can believe a word he says.

Do I care about the election at this point????

        NO

for one simple reason. my area of my state is getting the most political commercials of ANY state in the US right now. TV stations are making a MINT from the those ads.

Literally 4 out of 5 ads running on TV (even late at night) are policitcal ads both national and local.

I just want to crawl undera rock for the next 2 weeks and not see nor hear any more crap. I despise (from both sides) the lies, the total BS crap, the almost lies, the quarter truths, the shadowing of information, etc.
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.

What I don't like is how the postal service is supposed to treat all political mail like its priority mail now. Yet they get to only pay us in 5-12 cent increments for pieces that routinely come out of order, mixed up with other routes, and today I had all of city route 40's political mail....for five different zip codes. Those are not put together by us but by a the group that paid for them. With all the extra handling with have to do to every piece not even 45 cents would cover the cost.

That and I don't like the few that say they are going to fix us and make us their first priority when they get into what ever seat it is.

Also, when you take the time to do so, welcome to his level...dehumanizing the other side for disagreeing and all.
My sincere apologies. I worded that badly. What I meant was, for ME, I would have to be twisted and demented to vote for Romney, because for ME to vote for Romney would be stabbing myself in the back...because of my health conditions, my gender, and my orientation. I would be voting against myself, and destroying my own best interests.

I did not mean to say or imply that anyone who voted for Romney was, across the board, twisted and demented (which I did apparently say, reading back over it). So, I apologize.

But thank you for agreeing with me that he dehumanizes the opposing side for disagreeing. It's that very dehumanization that is exactly the reason I won't vote for him.

And yes, acting surprised that gay people have families (He actually said that, 'I didn't realize you people had families') is incredibly dehumanizing.

I do stand by this, however: You are well within your rights to vote for Romney, and more power to you- understand though that by voting for him in the hopes he can fix the economy, you ARE in fact saying that the economy is more important to you than the civil rights of whole families and entire classes of people.

Obama might be "Sorry baby, I accidently stuck it in your butt" but Romney is "Bite on this" as he stuffs a piece of rawhide in your mouth while you struggle to free yourself from the sawhorse you're bent over in his basement.

Fuck, I have 23 credits in political science and I can't even begin to describe the fuck up that is the US political system to am american, let alone a foreigner. Existential blithering angst sort of comes reasonably close to describing my feelings...

I am getting ready to fill out my absentee ballot [I love the system, makes sure I get a chance to vote even if I am suddenly hit with a bad body day. I always thought that balloting should run a full 7 day calendar week including saturday and sunday...] and am in the process of researching the candidates I have never heard of previously. I am *seriously* glad that there is a good opponent I can feel good about voting for that is in opposition to Linda McMann .... the stupid bitch cunt from hell. I have no idea why the republicans think they can shove idiots like she and Romney down our throats. At least Obama is *trying* to start the US on the road to recovery.

Yeah I know but DVRs cost extra and the cable bill is high enough as it is now(would be higher if I got the channels I REALLY wanted)

Now everytime I go on-line to YouTube, Daily Motion, etc. and other sites with ad on them NOW ALL I GET IS NON-STOP POLITICAL ADs

Makes me want to just shut down my computer and TV and veg out to nothing but DVDs for the next 2 weeks.

I do the Hulu thing for my tv, and they've got two ads about props, but that's it.

Interesting. It seems like the only ads I ever get online are that guy mosquitos won't bite who sells beer. Over and over.

On Hulu I get mostly bank & credit card ads. Chase, in particular, has some really annoying ads. And while I wouldn't get a Crapital One card for love or money, at least their ads don't make me want to punch my TV.

But just because he can, doesn't necessarily mean he will. In fact, it's almost a certainty that he WON'T.

Yes, he knows more about the economy than Obama, but I'll be blunt, he has a track record, via Bain Capital, of using said knowledge for evil. Bain Capital's entire schtick, since its incorporation in 1984, is taking old tired businesses, running them into the ground, and selling them for parts. There have been VERY FEW exceptions (like the aforementioned Staples).

What indication, based on his past record, do you have that he would have ANY interest in bringing jobs back here? How things currently are works for his business model. He has a vested interest in keeping things as they are now.

I'm just going to say that I am a current resident of Massachusetts, where Romney was governor. When he was in charge of our state, we dropped down into the high 40's for jobs and job creation, and our economy was in the shitter. It wasn't until he LEFT and we got Deval Patrick that we managed to claw our way back up into being one of the stronger, more stable economies out of the states today. (Did I mention that he left? When he did, he just dropped us like a sack of shit too, and never looked back at all. We were literally just a peon for him to step on to climb higher up the political ladder.)

Sooo... he knows more about the economy my foot, he knows what's good for the economy of his wallet.

Quite frankly, leaving seems like his MO. He left the State that raised him for greener pastures. And then he told it to go fuck off and die and now he expects us to vote for him...Go figure.

And if it was his father running for president I would agree with you on that. Romney's father is a very successful businessman who has a track record of making businesses under his command of performing very well.

Romney on the other hand has a track record that can be best described as "gut and run" where the objective is to take anything that can be profitable and leave the company with a husk that must close down and still be in debt.

I will also add this point here. The city I live in elected for Mayor a man who was a largely successful businessman. Right now he's trying to end run around the voting public to get a new hockey arena that will be paid for by city and (trying to get but failing) provincial and federal taxes and any profits will go to the owner of the team while the city will not see one red cent.

Needless to say, a businessman in a government position does not sound financial or economic decisions make.
