I know a woman from Kentucky who said many times on her FB page that she would not vote for Obama because he wasn't a Christian. She wont vote for a man who doesn't believe in God!!!

When I pointed out that he was a man of faith, a Christian at that, it was DEMANDED that I supply proof. As in pictures of him in church with a bible in his hand..

She then stated she would never vote for someone with the name Hussein, and that he should go back to where he came from!!

When I replied "Hawaii" she about had a coronary.

Her sister felt the need to jump in, her reasons for not voting for him were also based on the bazillion conspiracy theories about Obama, she also demanded that I provide proof other than Obama's say so.

When I asked for proof on any of her reasoning that wasn't some crackpots say so, I was quickly put in my place when asked "You're not even from here, this has nothing to do with you so whatever"

Apparently my opinion doesn't matter because I'm Australian. Never mind that our countries work closely together, never mind that I've spent a lot of time in the US and have a lot of family & friends who do live there, and who would be affected by the outcome.

I was told my opinion did not matter, and therefore I should F%^K OFF.. Yeah it was at that point I blocked all involved (as I knew I couldn't help but continue to feed the fire and stir them up if I saw any more comments on that post). I have to say I was shocked to come across someone like that on my FB, I mean you hear about them (the conspiracy nuts) but you don't actually believe they're real. We weren't real life friends, barely knew each other actually so it's no loss to me, I just couldn't believe I was even having the conversation in the first place..

I've likely still got a few frothers on my Fb friends list. I haven't been on the site much at all the last few months, and I suspect that it's actually much better for my health that I haven't.
