personally i do feel there's more discrepancies about it, but again i don't think it's going to matter if it turns out that he lied etc.

since he was already elected it's moot.

for mccain it wasn't as loud because there was better proof in my opinion. and trying to suggest that a military base wasn't good enough to prove citizenship didn't really help their image

I'll separate the birthers from the other idiots because I do think it is about race with them. They wont come out and admit it though. And hell, he could have video with something making it distinctive that it's Hawaii and that still wouldn't be enough. It's almost like the crusade against Clinton...where the best they could come up with was a blow job.

Perhaps it's because people don't like admitting to things that aren't true?

There's a reason this sign exists:

Because with Obama, there always seems to be someone who says "you just disagree with him cos' you're racist."

So if you decide that they're racist but "won't come out and admit it" ... would any answer other than agreeing to being racist be believed anyway?

Correct me if Im wrong, but his mother was a US citizen. So it doesn't really matter where he was born.

          I think this is it.

Im not an expert, but if Im reading this correctly he is a citizen by default.

All right. If there supposedly are legitimate questions, let's hear them. In full specificity, including reasons for not accepting the long-ago provided answers.
"My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."

More then a few people could argue that if you voted for Obama..you only did it because he was black..making you a racist.

You would be unable to provide 'proof' you were not a racist, so would that make you a racist?

I am pretty much as neutral as you can get about Obama. Yes, I think he gets a lot of flak over things like things left over from Bush..and Republicans won't vote on anything he wants JUST because he is Obama..but on the other hand I do think he could have done a much better job.

Not everybody who doesn't agree with Obama is a racist, the same as not all that do agree with him are racist either.

yes but people who refuse to believe that he was born in the US and is part of some weird conspiracy make it hard to draw any other conclusion about them.

I'm not talking about his politics. You can disagree with his politics all you want. I'm talking about the Birther nonsense.

my comment wasn't only about politics but about the mentality of calling everyone racist if they believe he lied about this.

if you decide that they're all racist... is there any answer they can give that you'd accept, other than them agreeing with your assumption?

Pepperelf, the reason why people suspect racism is because Birthers are so stubborn in ignoring the evidence. Obama has released a certified copy of the long form birth certificate proving he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Hawaii Department of Health has said they have the original. ( and the person saying that had actually seen the original) He did not lose his US Citizenship while living in indonesia. As for Obama being a dual citizen, he was. it is actually legal for a kid to be a dual citizen, since they are generally considered incapable of renouncing one of them. Obama automatically lost his kenyan citizenship, not his US citizenship.

in short, people suspect that birthers just don't want black politician in the White House. especially when the Tea Party ( the big pro-birther party) has backed someone who was definitely born outside the US.( Ted Cruz) ( and guess what? he was born in canada, to a US Citizen mother, non-citizen father. They say he is eligible. ( incidentally, legal scholars say he probably IS. But if he is, then Obama meets the same condition) So the hypocrisy makes it even more suspicious.

I do agree that not all birthers are racist, I am just suspicious as to why they can't seem to accept any evidence.

eason why people suspect racism is because Birthers are so stubborn in ignoring the evidence.
That isn't racism. Racist is if they say "we don't want a <race> in office."

assuming that they don't trust him =/= racism.

Personally I think the movement to label them as racists is... really just an attempt to silence them.

It's "control the language" tactics. Get everyone thinking of "birther" as the same as "racist" so no one actually listens to anything they say. Doesn't matter if it's actually true, as long as they get people associating the 2 words together.

or in a nutshell, say it enough times and it must be true, right?

Then why won't they accept the evidence they've been repeatedly presented with?

Why do they suddenly not care about place of birth when their favorite candidate was born in Canada?

Or maybe it's just because some of their leaders have been caught on record saying some pretty racist things

                          Like Jason Rapert in Arkansas
                          Or Inge Marler in Arkansas
Or Sonny Thomas Turner in Ohio
                          Or Mary Franson in Minnesota
Or maybe it's the on-going investigation of Sheriff Arpaio's countless allegations of racism.
Some People Are Alive Only Because It's Illegal To Kill Them.

Maybe because the first time all of this nonsense comes up is with a black candidate and now President. Of course they aren't going to say, "We don't want a black man in office" in public...but if they can refer to him as the Kenyan usurper...that's not quite the same is it?

So the words of individuals mean it applies to the entire group? And yet somehow it's "fact" and not "stereotyping"?

Does not understanding -or knowing - why mean the answer *must* therefore be "well they hate him cos he's black," then?

Like I said "control the language tactics"

I don't really care if the reason they refuse to believe the evidence and continue to keep hammering on this long disproven thing is because they're racist, or just don't want him in office, or if it's because they think he's a space alien.

Regardless of the reasons, they're obnoxious, and willfully ignorant. Yes, all of them. There is no "moderate Birther" movement.
