Wow, what a lousy excuse of an "apology". "I didn't mean it and they're making me look bad!"
I see this as indicative of the GOP's true colours. The demeaning comment and the half assed apology being insulting their political rivals tells a lot about them.
I love the "It's your fault what I said was offensive" with the classic taken out of context response.

The only reason he gave any kind of apology at all is because someone in his party leadership called him and said, "Dude, you fucked up. Fix it, this isn't making the party look good and it's going to hurt you at election time."
Deep down, he still doesn't understand what he did wrong because he clearly doesn't value women.
