Not a Republican, but an Independent who voted for McCain. I actually didn't make up my mind on who to vote for until the very end. I felt I had to choose the lesser of two evils. I didn't have any strong reasons to vote for one over the other. At first, I was going to vote opposite my state's traditional voting record, just to tip against the electoral college, since I thought I lived in a <color> state, but when I looked up my state's voting record I found we were something of a swing state. So my vote actually mattered, this election. I actually considered flipping a coin at one point, but decided that would be making more of a mockery of the process than really should be made.

McCain's proposed policies were more moderate than most Republicans. I also liked McCain's experience, and I felt that Obama would have a lot of trouble delivering on his optimism. Obama's tax plan seems a little odd to me, too, in that different numbers have been quoted at different times. So yeah, no really compelling reasons. I am an Independent, after all.

I actually do like Obama, and I'm looking forward to his term as president with curiosity. Not being a good ole boy, maybe he can change some D.C. nonsense all around-- or maybe he'll crash and burn on the first crisis that crosses his desk. Who knows? I don't think America made the wrong choice, though, even though I voted for the other guy.
