As somebody who has had a somewhat violent reaction to a breathing tube, I am guessing a feeding tube might be a bit worse..but that is a guess. Of course my reaction to the tube was a combination of many things.
1) A severe gag reflex. I have a very very strong gag reflex, as three doctors, several nurses, and several orderlies can attest too. *chuckles* I've woken just a bit early while having an endoscopy, not a pleasant scene OR experience.
2) Medication. I was seriously medicated.
3) Being a lot stronger then I look/appear. A LOT stronger.
and
4) Bleeding of my esophagus..so my throat was already not happy.
Now I was out of it, but by all accounts it took anywhere from 4-8 (depending on who is telling the tale..the doctors said 8, family said 4..*shrugs*) orderlies to hold me down..as I did NOT want the breathing tube in. They had to end up strapping me down.
However, even with ALL of that my reaction was nowhere near as bad as what the video showed. So, yeah..don't buy it for a moment.
