  • Canada's Next Great Prime Minister

Canada's Next Great Prime Minister is a CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) contest. As a candidate in the contest, I am looking for support.

    From my entry video:
Canada needs change. I feel that through my vision, Canada can become a better place for everyone. Currently we are facing a shortage of doctors, yet there are a number of internationally trained professionals who cannot earn a decent income because compliance with licensing requirements would require that they re-do their education. The current disability and pension programs in place need to be revamped and a Guaranteed Livable Income needs to be introduced. If a person is living below the poverty line, paying income tax is simply a way of being taken advantage of by the government. I would impliment a carbon tax which would offset income taxes, eliminate income tax for those living below the poverty line, ensure that students and post-secondary institutions can be successful and invest in infrastructure. My plan promotes employment, environmentally-friendly policy and social policy that works. I have the vision needed to make this a great place to be.

I like your platform. I'm a huge proponent of a carbon tax, not only for environmental reasons, but because I believe that using it to cut income taxes will give people more control over their lives and finances. I prefer to give people choices while weighting the incentives instead of forcing people to do things with laws.

And as someone who spent 5 years without a family doctor, while taking cabs frequently driven by PhD's with foreign qualifications, I certainly back your plan to re-evaluate our licensing requirements.
