to appear really really stupid. This had the potential to have us, as a state, be the laughing stock of the nation.

It seems that "someone" (ya know that someone told someone else that they could ........ XYZ but no one can really say/know who) slipped a proposal into the states Repub's state convention a proposal "Asserting the right of <my state> to secede from the US". NO one seems to know who got this "proposal" in to the caucus for a vote.
Most are giving this a very wide berth and even the most down and dirty Tea Party'ers are disavowing ANY favor toward this resolution.
