This is part of my broader point, Huckster.

Seems that a lot of schools these days are more interested in churning out automatons who aren't necessarily ready for the "real world" or "Corporate America" (or are they -- if you catch my drift...).

Our current political system is quick to strip funding from schools in favor of *insert popular expense du jour* - nearly every state has problems with underfunding of schools, nearly every grade-school teacher I've known has talked about buying class supplies with their own pocketbooks so that the kids will be able to do what they're supposed to be able to.

Both parties are bad about this, but Republicans are an order of magnitude worse - not only do they want to "starve the beast" of their school systems, they typically want to shove God in there as strongly as they can.
