Anal sex is not like vaginal sex, for most people. It takes time to get used to it. It's one of the acquired tastes of the sex world. Sex toys that size exist, and are designed for both vaginal and anal insertion. As long as insertion is gradual, and is aided by lube, there is no danger. You just have to know the limits of your body and work with them. The anus will not be damaged or permanently disfigured from using it in sex. I can understand not liking the feeling of anal sex, and I'm totally on board with it, but the fear of distending the anus because of anal sex is irrational.
