I think they taste the same. and I don't particularly like either one.

I'm trying not to to drink as much pop though, it's hard especially since I like iced tea . I also have to avoid caffeine, so I have to avoid Dr. Pepper too, which is my favorite pop (if they sold caffeine free, aspartame free, sugar free Dr.Pepper, I'd be in business haha)

Regardless of the Soda I have a lot of respect for the companies though.

They play fair in their competition with one another.

Fair, no. Despite what the article says, it was not about fair or professional courtesy, it never has been.

If Pepsi had accepted the offer, they would have been in the possession of known stolen information, which given how current IP laws are, equates to a federal crime worse than armed robbery. Not only would it have resulted in a considerable numbers of arrests of upper management and executives, it would also have caused the stock to plummet, effectively ruining the company.

So yeah, no goodwill there, just a massive CYA going on.

Not to mention that if Pepsi had used the information, then what would stop Coke from doing the same thing to them?

If I have to drink a soda pop, can I just have Moxie? And a steady, easily-obtainable supply of it?

Both. Coke Zero preferable if they got it, but Diet Pepsi if they don't. They taste different and I prefer Coke Zero more, but both are sufficiently pleasant.

Still, Coke has the sweet sweet cocaine in it. Mhmmm....cocaine flavour.

It all depends on where you live. In Canada, it's illegal to add caffeine to any sodas except cola, so Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew are caffeine-free (the caffeineated version, "Mountain Dew Fuel", is sold as an energy drink to get around that). In the U.S., Mountain Dew has the second-highest caffeine content of any soda (after Jolt Cola).

My favourite was Jolt (advertising slogan "All the sugar, twice the caffeine"). Unfortunately, energy drinks pretty much killed it off.

I read in the paper a few days ago that they might be changing the laws to allow caffeine in sodas other than cola. Can't really see the logic in it though.

Just so you know, Dr.Pepper has caffeine in it. I do live in Canada.

very true. The regulation actually is for "non-cola coloured soft drinks". As such, root beer, Dr, pepper, and various other "mahogany coloured" drinks can have caffeine at their discretion.

Mountain Dew without caffeine??? That just...does not compute.

My choice is....it depends on my mood. Sometimes, I want Crush Cherry.

To me, they taste completely different.

Oh, jeez, that stuff is waaaaay too sweet for me. When my ex-boyfriend was in the police academy, I swear they were mainlining that stuff, though, for the sugar and caffeine.

I loved the Coke with lime. Funny thing is, all I've ever been able to find here is the diet version, and I refuse to drink diet anything. The only place I ever came across the regular version was in Scotland?!

I hadn't thought about it, but you're right about Coke as a mixer. Pepsi don't work. But to me it doesn't taste as sweet.
