Green Lantern Show Shafts Rayner?

So current media rumor has it that neither Jon Stewart nor Kyle Rayner are going to be appearing in the upcoming Green Lantern show on HBO Max and I feel like that's a huge missed opportunity. I grew up in the 90s and Wally West, Kyle Rayner, Tim Drake are characters that made a big impact on me.

I feel like outside of comics they don't get a lot of love.
