    I'm in Vegas right now.

You know how I said I hate flying? I hate flying. You can get shooters for breakfast in an airport. Who knew?

    Anyways, yeah. Here I am.

I have seen some shit here, friends. I have seen the Elephant. I am pretty sure I saw Patty the Daytime Hooker (cookies for reference) out in front of New York New York yesterday afternoon.

There are some beautiful women and men here and some people wearing some outfits, let me tell you.

And some of these people are trying waaaaay.......to hard. I do like some flamboyant clothing, but if it's wearing you and not the other way around, it ain't working.

You know what I mean....someone wearing something so "sexy" that it looks kind of ...I dunno....forced. Frankly, I think someone wearing something more conservative with a confident air is far more sexy than someone dressed like a call girl but looking like her feet hurt or that she's afraid of a tit getting away from her.

I dunno. Just an observation. We were talking about a 70 year old woman in skin thight leather pants, having this same conversation, when this young goddess walked out in a casino (I thinki she was an employee) wearing a skirt so short it could have been a belt. Completely confident. Breathtaking. I laughed out loud at her perfect timing for our conversation.

I agree. Some people feed off of the attention, and what better place to get that attention than in Vegas?

I wanna go back now Have fun!!!!!!

You'll see some bizarre things in Las Vegas, yes. On my very first trip, I was told my a friend that it was a sure bet I would see a guy on an oxygen supply, playing at least two if not three machines at once, and smoking. And while checking in at Imperial Palace, I saw him, right across from the desk. Oxygen, check. Three machines, check. LIT FUCKING CIGARETTE, double check. Eek. I guess Vegas IS lucky after all - Imperial Palace didn't blow up.

But yeah, I routinely see ladies - not just older, but in general - wearing "sexy" clothing and yet coming across as anything from forced to downright frumpy. Now that downtown has gotten all spruced up, I suggest taking about two hours out one night and walking from Bellagio down to New York NY on one side of the Strip, then cross and go back. Preferably after 11 PM. You'll see a lot of interesting stuff, and a lot of sexy clothes on extremely unsexy people. A lot of them being drunk 20somethings who got lost trying to stumble back to the Hard Rock in six-inch heels and miniskirts that make dental floss look wide.

Also, those cards touting the not-prostitutes that are handed out as well as laid, shoved or wiggled into every conceivable spot? When you take your walk, grab every card you see. Each time some guy offers some, take them. At the end of your walk, look at what you've got - you'll be stunned at how many of these things are out there. Okay, now throw 'em away if they make you feel perverted. If you find 'em funny, take 'em home like I do and find bizarre uses for them.

Vegas is fun, and absolutely perfect for peoplewatching. If you prefer the nicer end of the peoplewatching spectrum, take an hour or two to hang aropund outside Bellagio and get a happiness buzz off all the people who're floored by the fountain show.

Oxygen enables combustion, but doesn't itself burn. If it's only going to be around the cigarette, it will burn far faster, but explosion isn't on the books as far as I understand the physics.

Ah, Bellagio makes me happy. Big damn conservatory, chocolate waterfall, and the fountain, with it's big booming thunder and music and water that shoots up 40 stories.

Better than fireworks. And I ate one night in Tom English's Olives, right on the terrace, and the fountain played the theme from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

They musta known I was there.

About the Porn Slappers. What a bunch of optimists, eh? You walk by eight guys, ignore them all, and that ninth guy just knows he's gonna be The One.

Stayed in Mandalay Bay, walked as far as Caesar's Palace. Saw some stuff, let me tell you.

One night we ate at Ah Sin, (right across from Bellagio, in Paris). Food and service not great...however, the view of the fountain AND the street was not to be rivaled. What a great spot for people watching!

It was a great trip. Glad to be back, though. Not used to being in a desert and it really messed up my sinuses. I'm still recovering from that. Triggered some awful hay fever and nosebleeds.

Saw some older women than I, dressed kind of hot. They looked good. Made me feel a little plain, although I wasn't wanting to wear anything but hikers putting that kind of mileage on my feet and legs. Made me want to spruce up my own wardrobe a bit. It was the ones that looked like they were trying that looked awkward or not well pulled together. You can get away with quite a bit if you look comfortable and happy.

Pure oxygen will turn darn near anything into a fire hazard, and combust it near instantly... maybe not kaboom, but certainly ka-flash fwoosh dead guy plus FIRE

Yep, Bellagio plays "L'Estasi Dell'Oro" from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, as well as everything from opera to pop. I swear the "My Heart Will Go On" performance is intensely powerful, and I'm not normally a fan of that song. And yes, Bellagio's new ring of nozzles goes 400' high on a windless day. WET Design, builder of this show, just finished rebuilding the Mirage Volcano - if you're a pyro, go stand by the railiung and get ready for a show that's a world away from the old cheesy one. Choreographed fireballs, go!

The slappers are funny. On one trip I decided to gather as many cards as I could - with no idea what to do with them, really - and when asked, politely, one of them gave me an entire bundled stack. Ended up givin' 'em all to some college kids who said they were on a scavenger hunt of sorts, in which whoever got the most cards won.

I suggested the walk from Bellagio to New York NY, but anywhere from Excalibur to Wynn is prime nighttime peoplewatching range. Beware: Don't go walking anywhere past the Statosphere after nightfall. If you're headed to Fremont Street, drive; not only is it a long walk, but the area between Strat and Fremont St. is not at all friendly. Actually, anywhere past the Peppermill (which is always worth the walk!) is iffy. Now, if only I'd been there to see one of the times when some drunk guy decides to go swim in the 'pool' in front of Bellagio. "If I just keep swimming around, or go sit on the fountain catwalk, they can't arrest me!"

...and then, out comes the little motorboat...

The furthest I walked was from Mandalay Bay to Caesar's Palace. That was a jaunt. We'd be advised to stay on the strip because off the strip was dangerous and also it was harder to get a cab off the strip.

We did go to Freemont Street because getting a taxi there is no problem. And one of the guys the husband knew from the convention knew his way around Vegas very well.

Man, I don't think I would have wanted to walk to Freemont, it wasn't really all that close in to our hotel.

actually some of them are worth money to collectors. People will buy anything nowadays....

Ok, this is making Vegas sound cool And I don't even like to gamble! I do think showgirls are cool (feathered headdresses FTW) and the fire and water shows sound amazing.
