Okay. I love Persona 3. It was my first Shin Megami Tensei game and it is one of the best RPGs I've ever played in my entire life. The battle system and game play is amazing. I loved the story line and music as well. This game rocked my freakin' socks and brought me to play other SMT games such as Persona 4, Devil Summoner 1 and 2, and Devil Survivor. Haven't played Digital Devil Saga because I can't find it anywhere but that's a story for another time.
Case in point: I love Persona 3 but seriously, do we really need three versions of this game?
Just about every forum I go to I hear P3P this and P3P that! I'm sorry, but I'm not going to shell out another $30 or so bucks to replay a game I already own. Persona 3's story line is done. It's over. I beat the game and I'm ready to move on to the next journey in the Persona-saga.
But no! I can't because Atlus won't stop remaking this game! The game originally came out in 2007 and we already have three freakin' versions of it? What. The. Hell? Why can't they put their efforts and resources into making Persona 5?
"But you can play as a girl this time!"
Well that's great. I really don't care. If it matters that much why don't they just make the protagonist of Persona 5 a female?
"But you can control all the party members this time!"
Awesome! You could do that in Persona 4! And while I'll admit that having your party on AI was pretty annoying and down right crippling at times, I kind of enjoyed being able to setup my AI tactics, pick a move and just watch the turn play out with no pause. All a matter of preference.
"But you can establish S-links with your male party members this time!"
That's fantastic but again, I really don't care. In fact there are only two things about P3P that I'm remotely interested in: Junpei's S-link and Theodore. But guess what? I can watch those events on Youtube for free once someone uploads them. Not enough incentive for me to buy the game.
I really don't mean to rain on the parade of anyone who's actually looking forward to this but come on! As much as I love Persona 3 I'm tired of hearing about it. Can't we just move the fuck on already? I want a new story. I want to meet a new cast of characters. I really wish Atlus would just put some effort into making Persona 5 instead of Persona 3: Super Delux Director's Cut!
Grrrr . . . .
