OK, so my mom finally saw Avatar and she was telling me that on her way out of the theater she overheard a couple of younger people talking that the Navi were far too kind not killing every human who wasn't part of Dr. Gracie's team.
Her response to them.
"No, killing them would have been far too much of a kindness. They are returning back to a world that justifies hatred and bigotry off of a book. Back to a world where I thank God my son was born into a civilized country where he is merely treated as a second class citizen rather than being put to death. Back to a world where the air doesn't kill you in 4 minutes in a relatively painless way, but kills you slowly with time and pain as you breath in all the pollution day in and day out. Back to a world desperate enough for resources that they are willing to go to war several light years away to get ONE resource. Death is what they will deserve... coming back to Earth death is what they may desire."
Wow, I didn't realize she could be such a pessimist, but she makes a really good point.
