  • All in one One for all or Each device for itself?

I recently bought a new cell phone that happens to be an MP3 player as well as a cell phone. Provided I buy a card for it.

I am trying to compare my devices lately. I have a laptop, cell and MP3 player.

I like having different devices for different things for one if one breaks I don't lose all of my communication/entertainment options in one fell swoop. Some people see having more than one device as clutter.

What is your opinion is it better to have one device that does it all or mix and match?

Well I prefer my laptop to use the internet, and my phone for texting and phone calls. I don't really listen to my IPOD im glad I got it free for signing up for a checking account because, honestly I never had a need for it and hate having to only use itunes

*nods* Yeah I understand I use all non ipod gear so I can always get the tech I want and flip my music around.

It really depends on the situation. For example, I have an all-in-one for my printer, because the space I save from not having a separate bed scanner and printer is vital. By the same token, I would never get a combo TV/DVD unit for anything larger than a motorhome, simply because if something fails, you have to repair or replace the entire unit.

Portable units I can't say I have an opinion on, as all I have is my PSP which when I'm out in public I use as an MP3 player.

I think having seperate things is good...I have a desktop, laptop, ipod and cell phone which can play games or music or whatever.

I don't want a phone with an MP3, not that I can buy one like that. They never have enough storage, and I like to have my music player and my phone separate.

I don't have a laptop, though I would like a nice one eventually. But I would still keep my desktop.

Do you know how hard it is to buy a decent standalone printer thesedays? I have to go direct to the manf now to get the make I want.

How will the print quality on a £50 3-in1 be as good as a £90 stand alone unit?

My phone also has music playing options - but I never use it (except as ringtones), but the internet while out and about is useful.

I have 2 laser printers. :P They aren't all in ones either. We have a b/w one and a colour one.

                    I love all-in-one gadgets.

My iPhone is my phone, PDA, and MP3 player. I use it for my shopping lists, budgets, file storage, calendars, you name it. I don't even bring my camera with me to special events anymore. The built-in camera is okay for my needs.

I just bought an all-in-one printer and I'm thrilled with it. There's so much more space in my tiny home office.

We watch our DVDs on the X-Box and our Blu-Ray discs on the PS3.

My coffee maker also grinds beans, brews espresso, and foams milk.

I'm a minimalist when it comes to my surroundings. I hate clutter. I feel very lucky to live in an age where everything is getting smaller while doing more stuff.

Here's something really messed up- I remember seeing tasers sold for personal self defense. Not only did they make them in pink, but they also had MP3 players built into them. To me, that somehow seemed wrong. It just seems "off" to combine weapon and toy into one device.

Aw, c'mon! It's like having a military helicopter playing "Ride of the Valkeryies," no?
