  • Enough Already!

It's been almost a year, and every weekend that I am in any sort of bar or place that places music, without fail, at least once or twice, Michael Jackson's "Man in in Mirror" comes on, and everyone screams and hollers and gets emotional and screams the whole song.

For fuck's sake, the guy has been dead for almost a year. How long before people just get the hell over it and quit with this idiocy?

I know, it annoyed me last year too. I left for training with him dead, and when I got back, they still hadn't buried his ass! WTF?!

I don't even care when a famous person dies the one one that even tripped me out was Heath Ledger cuz he was my age and it felt like the first big actor of my generation to die. It was one of those weird oh my god we are adults moments.

        I personally couldn't give a toss about Jacko's death.

What upset me was Ronnie James Dio's death; and I'm yet to see any music place play "Holy Diver" in that way. Tho, would make much better listening than anything Jacko did... in my opinion, of course.

I have never understood the big hoopla over celibrity deaths... seriously, it does not take much to die, in fact I guarantee you that every single person on the planet is capable of it.
Yes, I have mourned celebrity deaths, I mourned Heath Ledger's death because he was an incredibly talented actor and from what I've heard a damned decent human being.

Rest in peace and awesome-sauce, Mako.

Seriously though, to date, only Mako's death really effected me, celeb-wise. *shrug*

I think it's a fine idea to remember the work of talented artist who've passed on, but after a while it seems indulgent to me to broadcast one or two of that person's songs almost constantly and everyone pitch a fit. Besides being ridiculous and annoying, I, personally, think it cheapens whatever reverence that may have been possible.

What annoys me is that a lot of Jacko fans are very disrespectful of any other celebrity deaths apart from their precious idol. I've seen it on other message boards; if someone dares to post about a celebrity death, they go "*insert celeb name* who? They're not as important as Jacko!" While I'm sure that not all Jacko fans are like that, those ones give the others a bad name.

They're the same ones who will rake you over the coals if you let known his death isn't as big a deal to you. Sorry, I have better things to do than mourn over some guy who's been dead for a year and wasn't even family.

Same here, except Pat Morita, I think I actually shed a tear over his death.

The same could be said of the Princess Di fans. Even after a year, quite a few were still upset over it

Which is really stupid; get the hell over it, people. -.-

Tho, a lot of Jacko fans were insane even when he was alive. Now tho, they're even worse. -.-

That's true and it was worse when Elvis died or John Lennon.

Yeah, but nobody goes around claiming to see John Lennon in a 7-11

I'm too young to remember when Elvis or Lennon died. I remember their tunes, but not really the media circus surrounding their deaths.

Oh that pains me to hear.... John Lennon died on my 15th birthday so I remember it quite well.....Elvis it just seemed that the public mourning went on forever....and we didn't even have the media outlets then that we do now so imagine what it would be like these days....
