Bridalplasty: A bunch of women compete to win their dream wedding and a bunch of unnecessary plastic surgery. I say unnecessary, because the few that look like they could stand to lose a few pounds can do so by going to the damn gym and eating more fiber. The rest have no physical flaws that I can see.

Like many other reality competition shows, manipulation and general bitchery are key to win the game.

Go to "Here Come The Brides" and pay attention to the descriptions of Janessa, Lisa Marie and Netty.

I also find this show to be bullshit because their soon to be husbands are marrying them for how they are NOW. Obviously, they love their brides and want to be with them for everything they are now. They also want to change how they are just for their wedding day, so they can look oh so perfect for it.

And some of the comments on this show's message board are just ridiculous! Such as (caps lock for the lose): "BEAUTY IS SOMETHING THAT IS INSIDE AND OUT SO IF YOUR NOT BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE HOW CAN YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE?" Nice way to look at things. I bet whoever wrote that is a butt-ugly moo on the inside, and I have no doubt if that's the case then that ugliness seeps through to the outside, regardless of actual looks.

Mom and I didn't even make it through a full show before she started swearing under her breath at every thing the brides said. To save my tv from possible remote throw I changed it to Speeders...at least you can laugh at them a bit easier.

I watched the first episode....the contest was that the ladies had to put their "after" picture (the way they want to look) together as fast as possible, and the fastest ones would get a syringe would would allow them a nice session with a doctor, facials and injections to start them out.

I'll admit, I really want my cheeks sucked out and my breasts lifted, but I don't think I'd risk my entire body and my health to look different. Plastic surgery is some scary shit. No matter how ugly you think you may look, you could end up like Michael Jackson. And who wants to look like that?

I have never heard of this show, but it's appalling. One girl is actually married in a JotP ceremony, and her husband is in Iraq...so if she wins, when he gets back, he'll find his wife is someone else.

Anyone remember "The Swan"? The only time I ever agreed with one of those shows when the only show I saw was a woman who went on with a very messed up nose. She had been given a nose job and the doctor had to stop half way through because her nose hadn't gotten broken early in life....she had a tumor growing there. When they finally continued on he then found a lump in her left breast, the show not only changed her look (a bit better I think, load of confidence for her) different, but saved her life.

This x100. There was a story in the newspapers over here just a week or three ago about a woman who had gone for a boob job (given to her by her husband-to-be). She has yet to wake up from being knocked out from surgery, and this was several months ago. I'm sure he feels just grand right now.

Not a big fan of trying to change the person one is with anyhow. Diversity is the spice of life. You want your idea person? Good luck with that..personally I think it would be boring.
