  • Guilty Pleasure in song

This may have been done before I don't recall....BUT....what is a song/artist that you love and won't always admit to in public

Mine is Bread ...as in David Gates and Bread....they were really syrupy and sappy in the 70s but damn I love 'em

I like the Bee Gees too...what of it

I don't really care what people think of what I listen to, but I do listen to some stuff that people might think of as a guilty pleasure. I like Britney Spears (mostly her new stuff), and Avril Lavigne, both of which people like to make fun of. But meh, they make fun music that I enjoy.

I do have one or two Hilary Duff songs. :P And I own all of the Glee albums, but again I don't care if people know that. Sometimes I won't admit to them in certain groups, but that doesn't happen often.

I listen to Aqua without any hint of embarrassment.

I like Eminem's beats. His site used to have a beat selector (haven't been lately) that would loop. I used to do that when I was in the mood.

I also like some Brittney, and Lady Gaga has some great music, even if the lyrics make no sense whatsoever.

Poison and Duran Duran are the bands that a lot of people think I should be ashamed of liking.

            But I'm not. :P

I've been seen at least a few times every week blaring and singing "Hold It Against Me" (Britney) in the car. I love that song.

                Three Days Grace.

Should not like them, but I have my reasons. Also Green Day.

Half the music in my iPod I'm embarrassed to let anyone hear. People don't laugh at me for listening to soandso and suchandsuch; it's more "what the ##### is this crap?"
"My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."

Well, let's see...I don't know that I'm embarrassed necessarily, but I listen to:

                    Britney Spears
                    Hannah Montana
                    Selena Gomez

Also this song is epic. At least for a guilty pleasure. "My Boyfriend"

Also huge guilty pleasure song is "You Touch My Tra La La" by Gunther and the Sunshine Girls.

.....yes, it's as x-rated as it sounds.
"And I won't say "Woe is me"/As I disappear into the sea/'Cause I'm in good company/As we're all going together"

OK I will readily admit to listening to enjoying, and liking older Barry Manilow (yes I still have a bunch of the old vinyal records and yes I replaces some of those with CDs esp his 1977 live album).

also KC and the Sunshine Band (and some other 1970s "disco" music when it get played on the oldies stations here in town)
I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.

                        Group X (I love those guys )
                        Kylie Monouge (she's awesome)
Stevie Nicks (been a fan of hers since I was 14 )
music from various video games (like I'm the only person that does )

Why Stevie is considered a guilty pleasure nowadays is the fact that most of the people I hang out with listens to rap and hip hop, and Bill is a metal head.

Just noticed a HUGE mistake in my last edit, thought I'd fix it.

Half the songs some I like would be considered by some to be guilty pleasures. Lol, if I cared what people thought my song list would be a lot shorter, my tastes are very...odd.

There are songs I like by singers I don't like. There is everything from classical to the hardest hard core metal..including rap.

                          A few britney songs
                          Kesha
                          Eminem
                          Country
                          etc...

                          hmm where to begin...

I don't consider Stevie Nicks a guilty pleasure....there is nothing wrong with her

Duran Duran rock I like them, and they have been doing some newer stuff that's been interesting.

As for Barry Manilow I used to LOVE him when I was a kid, and John Denver. Now not so much.

My oldest daughter loves Tom Jones....I have no idea why....and I give her shit for it whenever I can He's so before her time I don't even know how she discovered him.

ETA: I always have and probably always will love the Carpenters, especially their song Superstar. I was really bummed when Karen Carpenter died many years ago. Her voice was smooooooooooooooth.

Oh and I just found out today that the lead singer from Atlanta Rhythm Section died......sadness. Love them too.

                            I'm a 70's kid what can I say.

I don't consider her such, either. Though she does put me to sleep. >_>
