She's not ugly by any stretch of the imagination

If this is ugly, we're doomed-or you've never actually seen her with decent makeup.

She looks better than Pamela Anderson

      I stand by my comment.

I just don't find her attractive at all.

I feel the same way about Scarlett Johansson, whom apparently every other male in the universe drools over.

Not ragging on you for your personal preferences or anything, but do you mind if I ask who you are attracted to celebrity wise? I'm just curious.

Personally I think Gaga isn't ugly, but she has some iffy choices in makeup and hair that make her look odd, and I don't mean her crazy fashion or hair colour, just sometimes she does things that are not flattering to her face. Like she had some really short bangs in some pictures I saw recently. like this That style doesn't really look good on... well, anyone.

I saw what she used to look like on an older episode of MTV's Boiling Points.

She looks a hell of a lot better without the freakshow hair and makeup and costumes.

I heard that she's messed with her hair so much, it's starting to fall out.

Honestly, I suspect it's regularly shaved, based on some of the hair fashions I've seen her sporting and how often I've seen shots of her with really, really short hair, which actually looks good on her, if she'd leave it tousled. I bet she could rock a good pixie cut.

I just wish she'd stop bleaching it that ridiculously fake straw yellow. It looks awful with her skin tone. The same goes for about 80% of all bleach jobs I've seen. It's even worse when she's wearing that "pale yarn" hair. Johansson is another that looks better with darker hair.

Overbleached actual (?) hair, not heavily made up
Photo shoot make-up with more natural blonde hair
The infamous meat suit - hair is fantasy colored and looks good on her
Glamor pic that makes her look rather younger

Actually, looking at shots of her from the last 5 or 6 years, I don't really see that she's any thinner now, though it's hard to be certain with the images I was able to find.

It's because she's a crazy SOB. And she panders to the crazy SOB crowd. Honestly, to me it feels like she tries to hard to be ridiculous. That kind of craziness doesn't just come naturally.

Andara, watch the video for "Poker Face," then watch the video for "Born this Way." I think she looks a lot thinner. Or more fit, at least, which could be a side effect of a lot of touring. Oh, I found the actual Vogue article, and she doesn't say anything about drug use. Just that she used to have a cocaine problem.

I've always like Nicole Kidman. Amy Adams too.

I can't really explain why I find certain women attractive and others not. I just don't find Lady Gaga attractive, is all.

I don't think people generally can explain why they find some people attractive and others not. Like I find James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) extremely good looking, but a good friend of mine thinks he's ugly, different tastes (though her and I have hugely different tastes when it comes to men! )

I was just curious, and I think those are both gorgeous women (though I think Kidman could do with a little less botox IMHO). I'm a straight female though, so really, it's not really an attraction thing for me, usually I'm looking at what the women are wearing more than anything else.

Media attention. I'm not denying that she has talent, but if it weren't for her name being plastered all over magazines and such, not as many average joes would recognize her.

She's also managed her career very well (with some help I'm sure). She produces a lot of very catchy dance music, with just enough of an edge to be appealing. But not so much that she can't be played on radio stations. Her songs can be (and are) endlessly re-mixed by DJs. DJ Tiesto even re-mixed "Bad Romance." And, well, I don't think she accidentally wrote the next gay pride anthem. That song alone guarantees her financial success for years to come.

On why she took up pop:

“It was the most provocative thing I could do in the underground scene,” she notes. “There’s nothing more provocative than making a genre of music that everybody hates and then making it cool. I think that’s always what drew people to me.”

                          I like her attitude.

I think she's got a hell of a voice and talent, and I think it's cool that she has shock value that isn't focused on sexuality, but crazy outfits and religion twice.
This is pretty much what I would have said. She does what she wants knowing a good number of people will hate or think she's loony, and she just doesn't care, and I have to admire that. Not that I think she's the greatest role model for everyone or anything, but I like her for what she is and what she does. A lot of my friends love her, everyone from plain ol' people like me, to the gays/bisexuals, to the functioning drunk redneck who frequently quotes her lyrics on Facebook when he's in a particularly good mood.

Wasn't she originally more of a jazz singer, but thats just not that popular a genre to work in? I've seen her perform as more of a jazz singer when she's outside of the US, without the crazy ass get ups or dance beat, and she's fantastic. Its kind of sad its just not a category of music thats really mainstream. You'd have to, say, switch to something like pop if you wanted to make it big. >.>

I look at her like I look at Manson, might be a freak at first glance, but underneath it there's a very intelligent person that knows exactly how to craft an image in the business.

In others, she looks really pretty, and I can't figure out what was different from one to the next to make such a difference.
