  • "You watch that?! It's a kiddy cartoon!"

Yes, I DO watch "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". Yes, I am fully aware that it was created as a cartoon for children. However, there's no rule that says I can't watch it and enjoy it. I also like to watch other kid cartoons; She-ra, for example.

Anyone else like so called kid cartoons?

It's a movie, but one of my favorites from when I was a kid, that I wish dearly I could find on DVD for my region, is Care Bears in Wonderland I've searched on Amazon and have only found it for Australia. So not fair!

Among other movies that I still watch and love: Fern Gully; Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland

It's not a cartoon... but The Muppet Show. For some reason, some people think it was just for kids.

I'd still happily spend all day watching them now, even though I'm 34!

I'll state what i said at another message board-

If you're an adult, in your own home, you can watch whatever you want.

                  Damn straight.

I don't care what age group a show is aimed at, if I enjoy it I'll watch it. I still watch a lot of cartoons and other kid-type shows and am quite happy doing so. Especially if the shows are ones from my own childhood. They really bring back memories.

Heh, I'm currently visiting my dad right now and went shopping with my step-mom today. As we passed a toy store I noticed a large fraggle sitting on one of the shelves so I decided to have a look through the store to see if they had any other nostalgia-causing toys in stock. As I was wandering the aisles the theme from Fraggle Rock started playing over the loudspeaker and I sang along with the whole song before I remembered I was in public.

Most people think any cartoon is for kids. I watched the Looney Tunes when I was a kid and they were funny but they were much funnier as an adult because I started to get more of the jokes.

I don't go out of my way to watch them, but I actually enjoy most of the kids shows and movies that we frequently have on in the house. It's a nice break when I just can't play with blocks, color and sing the alphabet anymore.

                        Welcome to my world.

                        I watch wrestling.

If I ever mention it in passing to someone, I get the following:
                        "How can you watch that?"
                        "It's so fake!"
"You know it's not real, right?"
"Aren't you a little old for that?"

It's gotten to the point that I've started telling people I watch porn.

I have to admit that I'm a little baffled at the number of adults that enjoy children's shows and movies.

I have one friend who always wants me to come over and watch a movie with her. When I get there, she throws in Cars or something. I chuckle maybe once or twice throughout the movie, but for the most part I'm bored silly. I don't understand what possible intellectual stimulation can be found in these children's shows for someone with an adult brain.

The only so-called "children's" movies I've enjoyed aren't really for kids specifically, but rather for general audiences. Like Toy Story.

Yay, another pony fan! Who's your favourite? Mine, obviously, is Rainbow Dash.

Heh; tell those people to watch Watership Down, Felidae and Plague Dogs and then get back to you; they may change their opinion sharpish. Also; none of those cartoon movies are aimed at kids, and none of them are anime.

There are a few "kiddie" shows that I like to watch, largely for the nostalgia factor (like Disney's Robin Hood). But I do enjoy watching most of the offerings from Pixar, and I really loved Tangled. I have also been known to watch an episode or two of ICarly. Fiance LOVES Spongebob, and I can't stand it. It's just so...silly and gross and weird.

Now, of course, we watch a lot of animated shows that are NOT intended for kids. Things like Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad, Archer, Bob's Burgers, etc.
