It is! And it makes a lot more sense, at least so far, than the original did. I hope it gets more episodes than the new He-Man they tried a few years ago did.

They also did a reboot of voltron too. I love my cartoons and will never give up watching them.

If you get HUB they have all the old cartoons on there. I started watching Jem, Transformers and GI Joe again.

I love the reboot of Thunder Cats. Now if the could do He-Man and She-Ra reboot that would be cool too.

I just remebered another cartoon I use to love, The Real Ghostbusters. The other knock off sucked.

Actually, the "knock off" came first. Some Google-Fu will tell the story.

The Filmation cartoon only existed because the movie was a huge success. Sure, it was based on the original TV show, but the original TV show isn't the story that was a huge box office winner - it only lasted 1 season, and the cartoon lasted about the same. Whereas the one based on the movie lasted 7 seasons. But, considering that Ackroyd and Ramis wrote for the latter, it's not surprising.

Here's a pretty detailed history between the two Ghostbusters shows. Pretty interesting story actually.

thank you for that. That was really interesting about the Ghostbusters. I didn't even know that the knock off came first and was the original. So not really a knock off then. LOL

Well the Real Ghostbusters out lived them anyway. I wish they would put that back on tv too. I am going to have to check out Amazon and see if they have it on dvd.

You know there was another cartoon though not really for kids that was on Comedy Centeral call Drawned Together. The show was funny. I think they cancelled it too.

Drawn Together is so totally not for kids at all. So much about that show was so very wrong. Comedy Central canceled it because the creators left the station, so it was technically abandoned first.

Well, Drawn Together was kind of a satire on Surreal Life (and other shows like Big Brother and Real World). While some of those shows are still on, they aren't nearly as popular as they used to be, so the satire isn't as effective.

Well, that and the fact that there is a line between naughtily funny and grossly indecent, and that show crossed it all the damn time.

I got myself most if not all transformers DVD's before the beast wars and animated run (and that cgi one with kicker that I watched on youtube, which I thought was shite)

So it was More than meets the eye till the headmasters run then the 3 takara box sets released in the UK, which I couldnt enjoy as much as it was too japanese.

I got the complete Thundercats and apparantly a new run has been aired in the states, Dungeons and Dragons and later if its not too stupidly over priced I'll get heman and shera box sets.

with these DVD's I have to brows the kids section at HMV which I'm not too keen on, I can squat down in the horror section building a £100 stack, but I can't just browse looking for titles I just feel too wierd standing there.

I stand a better chance buying DVD's from my youth (assuming they made it onto DVD) at forbidden planet as they class alot of them as cult and not kids even with a U rating. If HMV did the same and stuck trapdoor next to Akira (well seeing as they list alphabetically ...) I might notice the DVD for sale.

What I've listed so far are from my childhood, the last show aimed for kids I watched semi regularly was bear in the big blue house when I got in from night shift, that and Naiomi Wilkins the presenter (and ex actor on one of the other milkshake shows) was hot.

I loved Drawn Together! But then, I'm a fan of that raunchy, crude type of humor and I realize that the show is definitely not for everyone. I was amazed at some of the things that they actually got away with, and was shocked that it lasted for 3 seasons. After the first season I thought it would be gone, but then it somehow got brought back, which was good for me

I still watch cartoons, hell my wife does also. There is nothing wrong with watching cartoons.

My BIL and I were just talking about this today as we watched the new episode of Dragonball Z Kai and Voltron. Nearly all the shows that we get excited to watch now are the cartoons that we follow. Aside from my reality shows that I've become hooked on (so you think you can dance and Project Runway) or something on BBC (we just discovered how great Top Gear is) we watch cartoons.

I personally enjoy some that are meant for my toddler (Yo Gabba Gabba!) and would watch them even if he wasn't in the room. Cartoons all around are just more enjoyable and relaxing to me than any other tv genre. As stated before I just like to watch something simple and fun.

And whoever mentioned Ghostwriter, you're awesome! I LOVED that show! Thank goodness for Youtube! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch Reboot and Sailor Moon again and again.

Phineas and Ferb but I also have to give a shout out to Teen Sitcoms.

Over the last few years I was disappointed to see situational comedies replaced with Dramas that have more angst than a teenage locker room. Seriously if adults were really that angsty the species would have died out long ago, yes we as writers can be angsty but we aren't just writing for other writers.

That being said a friend of mine was watching the Hannah Montana movie I caught part of it thought it was actually pretty good it was funny didn't insult the viewers intelligence, you know like they used to do to us when were teens, and had witty humor you could appreciate at any age.

So I started watching the series and damn it was good. Then another series and another. Turns out teen comedies are filling Sitcom shoes and doing them better than we could have. Amusingly they are more light hearted and fun than 90% of the adult shows out there.
