  • Re Deluded Doctor Who Fanboy thread on CS

    Original thread

Seeing as I'm not a member there and it seems pointless to create an account just to post once.

I still wish that I could go into a toy store and get Doctor Who themed toys for me...I mean my kids.
I got my brother the lego Slave I from Manchesters Toys R Us when I went up last year for his birthday.
I did say to the check out lady it was a birthday gift, I don't think they asked if it was for a nephew, I'm pretty sure I said
"It's for my brothers birthday." I'm pushing 40 and he's older than me

I don't normally get toys (collectables) from the local comic shop as its a tiny store, thier same named sister franchise (forbidden planet or international) has a way larger shop and I miss that place (but thankfully get to keep my pay check instead of blowing it all on tat)

I got the not lego tardis and the 11 doctors not lego minifig box set as well as a few bags of the random minifigs, tonnes of daleks then they released 5 packs of em.

I got the Iron clad 'propper' dalek as I just don't like the skittles variety.

Might get enough blue lego to make a tardis PC case, that or moc extend the fire house into Ghostbusters HQ.

    Books as decoration.
I know you can get cardboard boxes with book spines printed on them, are those the type referenced or do they really mean "we will sell you X ammount of out of copyright printed to the size you want books"

Cos unlike DVD's and VHS books come in different sizes and do look off on bookstore shelves.

I ommited Bluray from that line as I don't like the height change they and HDDVD opted for (even if it does distinguish them on the shelves incase someone put a bluray in the dvd section)

No, these are actual books. They get them at auctions all over the place (and people sell to them, too), and they probably make a profit on the books that are actually worth something, then sort the rest by color and size and genre so people can have pretty looking shelves of books they never read.

Oh I forgot to write this first (silly me) I realised this when I got to work.

Imagine this scene from Seseme Street
"Show me on the doll where the number two touched you."

Which TBH should have been the title
