So the popular anime Attack on Titan is on Netflix, and we're finally catching up on it.
Tonight we calculated that between the endless recaps, opening and ending themes, and the preview, there remains 17 minutes of actual show.
At least 5 minutes of these 17 will be taken up by people thinking about the decisions they are faced with, and what decision they should make, and remembering their entire fucking lives up to this point, and agonizing over whether they are even worthy to make these decisions, and maybe they should just die but they're scared, etc.
Holy inefficient storytelling, Batman!
Seriously, kids. Die, or don't. Just STFU already.
It's a tribute to how interesting the concept of the show is that I'm still putting up with it. I have very little patience for inefficient storytelling. I have been known to skip large sections of novels because the characters won't fucking shut up about every stream-of-consciousness thought that comes into their heads. I'm all for a paragraph of introspection. NOT PAGES OF IT.
Ain't nobody got time for that (especially when there's a 30-foot Titan RIGHT BEHIND YOU!).
