Are Internet Ads Getting More Intrusive?

I use Adblock on every site. No pop-ups, no sitting through crap on Youtube, no pop-unders, no sidebars, no annoyances. It's freaking awesome Also, if people don't like that I use it, fuck 'em

I do too. I never turn mine off.

Unfortunately, the overly intrusive advertisers have ruined it for the small guy who uses ads to keep his website running.

Given that malware-laden ads are a prime vector for infection, I consider ad-blocking an absolutely vital component of securing a PC. Over the years I've found that using a HOSTS file, in conjunction with an adblock browser add-on, and a Flashblock (click-to-play) add-on produces the best browsing experience without crippling very many sites.
