The Catholic Church requires that, if one partner is a non-Catholic, they convert to Catholicism, but if they don't, they must agree to have their children baptized in the Catholic Church and raise them as Catholic.

The priest had no problem baptizing Child Rum as Catholic because we both were fine with it. As I understand it, Catholicism isn't passed on through either. If you're baptized Catholic, you're Catholic; if not, then not. And if not, you need to *be* baptized Catholic; unlike most other denominations, they don't take transfers.
