The other day I posted a link (over on CS) to a Wiccan based Wiki site that I started asking for people to contribute to it (since my wife hasn't yet).

I just had to edit and delete a bunch of pages because of some jackass who decided to fill pages up with "burn in hell baby f*ckers", "find god or you're going to burn in hell" (dumbass - Wicca is a goddess!) and other insults and threats.

Seriously, your life is that boring that you have to seek out my site to just trash it? Go get a fucking life jackass. I have as much right to put this site up and you don't see me on your (insert whatever religion you follow) sites trashing your religion, right?

Your comments prove you're as ignorant as they come (Wiccans are not devil worshipers!). Read a fucking book and get your nose out of the religious dogmatic propaganda that you've clearly been brainwashed with.

Just for the record - your IP has been blocked and you've also been reported to your ISP.

Hmm, I saw it over at CS.com. No offense, but I was wondering how soon you'd find someone who'd trash your site like that, or put up a bunch of anti-Wiccan info.

PS: I've only known one Wiccan (from my training flight) and was interested in discussing it with her. However, several other members of our flight explained that she was just using Wicca...that she wasn't really serious about it. I'm not sure exactly what that means, as we never discussed it further.

I could but I doubt he would give that information (pesky privacy laws) and I'm sure their ISP will take care of them. I've submitted my logs to them.

Funny thing - they aren't far from me. I did a tracert and their local switch is less than 100 miles from me.

Plaid - all you need to do is look at my "location" on CS and you'll see the general area.

Plus, it's more like less than 200 miles, to the north, in the general vicinity of a large park where people worship a large mouse.
Edit: Or it is in a city almost directly to the south-west of the mouse-worshipping park (this city has their own park named after another word for shrubbery an a cheap beer).

They could have but the site has been up for months with nothing on it so very little SEO.

It might have also been someone just Googling it looking for targets. But Hobbs is right: if Raps gets the IP of the wiki vandal and cross-references it with his own logs, he can figure out if the vandal was from CS or not.

Yes. Even as a former member, in which case this doesn't affect me, I find it unsettling that there could be someone like this among the CS.com forum. And though not explicitely stated in the rules, I find it ban-worthy to attack a fellow member's site like that.

No need to drag Raps into this and while I can pass the IP address along to him, if he does anything it could open him up to a legal issue and we don't want someone like this owning CS.com and Fratching, do we? I've reported them to their ISP and if they want to pursue it, then it's up to them.

I've learned from it - I've edited the access so there's no anonymous editing / creating / posting.

That's probably what happened. Someone was simply searching for message boards to troll. Any of the keywords they used...could have been in the link on CS, which appeared in the search results. All they'd have to do is click on it.

But, people like that are *exactly* why I no longer have my MGB message boards. At the time, the software I was using, wouldn't let me block IPs. All I could do was block their email addy...which the trolls simply provided from a disposable source such as Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. After several instances of getting my boards trashed, I had enough...and shut them down. Too much hassle.
